Hey guys
I finished my contract, and the private school owes me approximately 16,000 Rmb on my last day.
My last day was on December 27, 2014. I've stuck around my town to make sure
I receive what I'm owed. Long story short, the owner has a history of not paying staff once they leave the country. Also, chinese staff have yet to be paid since November. Many chinese staff have left due to this, and most foreign staff have only been paid 1/3 of theirs since December.
I've got the foreign affairs office involved and they said they guarantee that I will be paid. However I'm very skeptical of this. I teach in a very small town, owners tend to have connections, not to mention old mentalities of Chinese sticking with Chinese, my Chinese friends have even said that they wouldn't leave it for the government to handle.
Lastly, all parties are aware of my visa coming to an end.
And I've told them that this final salary is my ticket home (I've stretched the truth here to get my salary sooner).
What would you guys do in this situation? I'm considering walking into the owners office and demanding payment while the other staff watch in horror, but hopefully you can come up with something better.
Cheers
Can't get your money back? A bit angry? Hammer your boss' car into pieces, he probably drives a nice BMW like most bosses in China. A buddy of mine couldn't get 10000RMB that his ex-employer owed him, he knew what car (including the license plate) belonged to his boss, he waited one day not far from the school until his ex-boss arrived, the man parked his car next to the entry, my buddy came with a big hammer and destroyed the car, no one among the bystanders had enough guts to say anything, the repairs likely cost him more than 10000RMB, now they are even.
Sensible and simple !

So your salary is not late (according to you 15th of the month), and you have not stated when your visa expires. But you are supporting violence and vandalism.
Foreign Affairs office? Do you mean SAFEA? For the last few months this same BS story has been posted over and over again.
You fail to include vital information. When is the normal pay date? And when exactly is your visa up?
For the OP, call the CFTU, they will magical fix your problems.
Also you time table doesn't make sense. Chinese leaving because their salary is a month late?
Foreign teachers being paid a 3rd of their salary? Are you and them working there illegally?
Anyone who really has salary issues call SAFEA, but remember you can't claim your salary is late unless it is past the pay date in your contract.
I can't believe people are still falling for these BS posts about the same damn story

"With the exception of your last salary - you are to receive this on your final day with the school, plus anything else."
Is that clearly stated in your contract? Your previous post, you stated you contacted Foreign Affairs in your home country, and you also contacted Foreign Affairs in China? BS. Foreign Affairs dept. has nothing to do with SAFEA. If your contract stated that you were to be paid on the last day, SAFEA would have made the school pay you. I've been through this. And those lazy @#$$ don't leave the office, it only takes a phone call to get the school scared.
And here's another piece of BS that proves you are a troll . You claim you have not seen similar posts!?
How about we do this. We both agree to allow admin to expose our anon posts.

There you go again, mixing up what you say. The other staff have nothing to do with your situation. SAFEA deals with legally hired foreign teachers. Schools must keep X amount of money with the government.. You are full of it. And you still have not stated when your visa expires.
