Q: Do you use the tuk tuks to move around the city?
I know they are not the safest way to move around, but when I am in a hurry and the alternatives are walking half an hour or waiting for a bus that might never come, I find the tuktuks very useful.
Do you sometimes use the tuk tuks or do you think that they should disappear from the streets?

I'm not sure what a tuk tuk is. I usually use the taxi, subway or bus to get around the city. If I have a friend that has a car I can get around that way also.

It is one of those three-wheeled small vehicles that can fit one or two passengers. You can normally see a lot of them around the subway stations in rush hour or driving in opposite direction or through lanes of cars in a suicidal way
三轮车's (san lun che, "three wheeled car") are definitely convenient in a smaller sized city. Before I bought my car, I would use them if I needed to get across town or something. Usually a bit cheaper than a taxi, but of course slower and more exposed to accidents.
nope, cost/safety matrix does not add up compared to taxis or busses (or walking which is also a surprisingly fast way to get around considering the time needed to hail a taxi or wait for a bus)
I don't use them as we have an e-bike and a car, so we don't have the need anymore. Before we got our own transport I mainly used buses but if we were going somewhere in the evenings it was more likely we would get a taxi.
On one occasion we couldn't get a taxi so we stopped a rickshaw (as I prefer to call them), and the price was the same as a taxi! Now, that could be because the driver knew there were no taxis, and I will admit the ride was much more fun than a taxi, but.... N.B. We live in Nanning which is tropical and hot, I cannot imagine trying to use one in Harbin in winter!!!

In our city which is as cold as Harbin, they are enclosed and would you believe they have little coal fires to keep the cabin warm! Not only cosy but a useful addition to the air pollution.

I am in a small city, and they are much cheaper than taxi, although if i have to go any great distance then obviously taxi is better.
I use them quite regularly and thoroughly enjoy them.......... don't have to wonder about smoking, like a taxi..... they were just 1-2 kuai less than a taxi, but since the New year, they have been asking for more than a taxi..... don't imagine this will last for long ....
I don't go far, just if it's more than half hour walk.
I have a yuk yuk (haha) with a volkswagen engine in it !
I love doing wheelies past those stupid electric bikes.
Only one time, because they always ask for ridiculously high prices in big cities.
