Surely 'we' the people can be very effective examples of our countries.
Has any Chinese ever said something in the lines of 'i want to visit the country which produced a gem like you'

I think that went out of the window a few years ago.
And anyway, most "Chinese tourists" I know have traveled more in the past 5 years than I have in the last 40. I don't know how they get the holiday time. And that includes the people I work with

Actually I have invited very few because so many come uninvited nor am I interested in hosting any party surrogates searching for an opportunity...Hopefully we can create immigration policies which reflect the same xenophobia that china exhibits in the years to come as our system is in dire need of reform to address all the criminal efforts that have been diminishing and looting my country's humanitarianism and benevolence.
I think Chinese like you have the wrong type of thinking. We are individual people with rights and freedoms. We are not property or agents of our governments. Each person is to be judged as an individual. Intelligent people get it.
Let's look at your ridiculous idea from a different perspective, should I say only nice things about my country and hometown? This would also make them want to visit my country. But it's dishonest and childish everywhere has its' drawbacks. When people meet me they will learn that I see them as an individual and I will respect them as such. I will not tarnish them with the crimes of their countrymen, ancestors or government (past or present). I expect to be respected and regarded the same way.
But the OP is a product of the Chinese government, free thinking people is a threat to governments that rely on ignorance and false narratives to control and manipulate its own people.

I find most people are not very good at being tour guides of an area they are from. If you grow up somewhere you have a tendency to take things for granted.

But coming back to the point of your question how I understand it.
Some time ago I showed this forum to some of my English speaking Chinese friends and they were horrified!
Asking how is it possible when they never met any foreigner in the real life to present same or similar point of views?
Now some of them believe that foreigners are double face devils.
If anyone in the future will want to raise wave of xenophobia in China so it would be enough just to translate and publicize some threads from this forum ...

It's been mentioned quite a few times why a lot of the posters on forums "vent" and let off steam and you seem to have missed that point. I'm sure we'd find a similar mix of posts on a Chinese language website for Chinese living in, for example, Vancouver where they have to deal with Canadian ways of doing things!
I'm sorry but your views on China are very one-sided but you are entitled to them. Just don't expect everyone to agree with them.

I am sure that we could find xenophobic Chinese threads but what surprises me here is that it looks to be the majority of threads. Chinese usually do not care much about foreigners but I will check the online expat forum in Europe.
Yes, I noticed that the people say they are coming here to ventilate - I just do not find it an explanation. I am convinced that majority of contributors' problems are simply based on frequent overreacting and obvious lack of selfcontrol, sometimes accompanied by absolutely missing the basic understanding of Chinese realities.
I do not find my views on life in general and also on China as extreme and also not one sided, but I generally do not expect the strangers on anonymous forums to agree with me.
In general I do not care much.

I can see Janosiks point. Some of the stuff posted on forums is nasty. And its not really a defence to say its ok because other people do it. There is a big difference of course between chinese nationals on a western Chinese forum and us on here: A chinese national in a western country has a good chance of being allowed to stay indefinitely. We don't have that here. So effectively, the system in China is xenophobic towards us. We are foreigners. Always will be. The Government says so. With this in mind it should not be surprising that many posts are not complimentary.

The only difference is more often than not on this forum I read about quantifiable proven realities that not even Chinese themselves would deny at least on private conversations, when what I read on most putonghua speaking forums is just pure slur that reeks insignificance and insecurity.
Oh and not only about westerners. Just wait for the next controversy with some southern Asian country and you'll have forums full of "they should stick to growing bananas and pineapples" any day of the week.
I mean I don't really feel offended by those, honestly I don't think these people and their "opinions" are really a danger to me more than to their own (because soon or later reality makes a harsh come back), but seeing paid trolls trying to smear the issue with their worn out arsenal of reverse accusations and self fulfilling prophecies like we're still buying into that crap is just ludicrous.

If you had access to sites like youtube you could easily browse a plethora of some very interesting, entertaining and humorous content from Asian-Americans/Canadians on the difficulties and commonality of cultural integration....Where the emphasis is also on personal anecdotes and observation.
