Q: Does anyone have experience using UPS to send something to China?

Is it better or worse than using priority mail express international? Why or why not?

I have had documents shipped to me without problem. Packages through my employer without issue but that is a different process with HTS codes and such

I had one sent from the UK and had so many problems. I eventually had to go to their depot in Beijing and pick it up in person. Not recommended.

It might depend on the content of the package and the address you post to.

As jack79 points out, documents posted to your employer would have a greater chance of arrival intact than a package posted to you.

If it is documents, there is less chance of sticky-fingers getting involved and things going missing.

I posted a package with a gift using registered mail to a local friend here from my home country, and it arrived intact. but then i listed the contents on the outside.

Colleagues had a UPS package sent from the US that was pilfered.

It could just be a pot-luck on who gets their hands on it.

good luck

I used UPS to send a package to Beihai,China  from Edmonton, Canada.  The package went as far as Guangzhou by UPS. From there is went by DHS courier services to Beihai. UPS took 2 days. DHS took 2 days. But the service was good.

A:Good question!  I'd say, if you study at Uni in China beside working full-time as an E.T. with Residence permit, you don't interfere with your full-time employment. It's your free time and you can do anything you want, with respect to the Chinese laws and customs. Have a look at terms of Z visa/Residence permit and ... ".. you cannot work (and earn monies!) with another employer ..."That's all it is! Your RP sponsor title is written on the RP stamp in your passport, I think. It's in Mandarin, so I've heard about that from someone ...At I.D.-ing by cops, they know where you work and than more details about you are just a phone call away ... and it happened in person ... LOL ... during the day-time stroll through Wulumuqi, Xinjiang, 2012/13 semester. Now under RP, you're free to surf Internet, jog, ... and study, too. I suggest, you look and ask at the Uni, you plan to study in the future. Have a detailed look at requirements for studying and attending chosen Uni.Good luck! -- icnif77
