Does anyone play Diablo 3 in China on the American or European servers ?
Im looking to play and have some questions.
1)if I buy a global key can I activate and play from China? (If not, how did you activate/play?)
2)is it playable lag wise without a Vpn?
I know the Chinese version is out now but it seems to require a Chinese Id to play and also it'd be easier in English.
Thanks in advance

You can play it without a VPN, but lag spikes and long periods of red latency are much more common. I also had problems updating the game client (which you need to do frequently). It often wouldn't connect at all without a VPN.
In short, you will have some latency issues, and occasional but very annoying client update problems. Samsara advises you to play Path of Exile instead. It is amazing, superior to Diablo III, and free.
Norgar:
Thank you.
I'll look into path of exile.
Are there any specific servers that you'd recommend that I'd get lower pings on?
Samsara:
I played Diablo III on the American server, which seemed to have the best ping.
In Path of Exile I played on the Singapore server. If you're not using a VPN you will occasionally have the same issues (lag spikes, red latency), but PoE generally has fewer problems.
Diablo 3 is an online RPG, or do you play mujltiplayer?
I never understood the appeal of online games. I play offline only.
I do have lag issues, but that's from my 5+ year old laptop being overtaxed.
Norgar:
It's one of those games where you need to be online to play single player. Actually all I want to do is play single player.

Sounds like a lot of unnecessary property control. I just play the best of what I could pirate.
You really need Asian servers to be able to play online games. CS:GO, Payday 2, DayZ, all work fine because they have Chinese or Asian servers. I can't imagine you'd have much fun on Western servers.
