Chains like Walmart, Carrefour, and Metro all have some type of an imports section where you can find your favorite munchies. They meet you half way in that respect, but after about three or four visits you begin noticing their blatant shortcomings in stock of certain food items. Yeah, its a bit too much to ask businesses to carry everything that you'd expect them to have back home, globalization has taken us far but not far enough that Im going to be able to find a token food item that I'm suddenly craving.
Is international shipping of small type food items ( ritz, vanilla oreos, nutrer butters) really expensive? Just wondering if anybody knows about that.
Not to start a which hunt but, isn't it a wumaoism to have the word "tasty" in the question.
"Did you ever have a friend ship some kind of foul snack?" Who'd want that.
I have found that the better option, instead of craving stuff from home, is to keep trying new stuff until you have found a variety of local snacks that can keep you snacking happily.

I don't consider it an oddity by any means. *shrug* Witch hunt indeed, regardless of the first part of your phrase, it is entirely negated by the word "but" meaning you could well do without it. Gives the impression you are starting a hunt but covering your backside. That's just my two cents, I've come to find the "not to, BUT ...." structure quite nonsensical by virtue of its contradictory nature. I'm probably being a bit too nit picky here, but its not like I'm getting any answers anyway. I am a native English speaker, i consider a broad array of packaged foods to be snacks, but not all of them to be tasty. Example: Pretty much any packaged Chinese food here ( la tiao, dried fruits, shrimp chips). Those are definitely snacks, even though I don't consider them even a bit tasty.
Are you a tourist? That depends, many tasty food have an acceptable price, some are expensive. ''friendship''?
