Where I come from it's everywhere. Impossible to go anywhere without seeing dead on the road.
The lack of it here seems strange.
Do you know why?
I think it's mostly due to there not being much in the way of wildlife in the cities here, and people keep their cats and dogs inside pretty much all the time.
It might be different in the rural areas.

I can't say I have seen much wildlife out in the country either.
I was at a friend's family house in the country last year. He told me about hunting for rabbits with his dad when he was younger. But he lamented about how the numbers of rabbits went down, and eventually he had to hike 10 km to find any at all.
I wonder what happened to all the rabbits ?
The guys that collect gutter oil and sell it back to restaurants also scrape roadkill off the roads and sell it back to the restaurants!
You're lucky ? Yesterday, I took a bus. The bus stop at a crossroad, heavy traffic on the large road. I saw something looking like an old rug on the road. Woops, nope, a dog flattened by several cars/trucks. I guess it gets cleaned ? Or during the night, other animals feed on it ?
He wasnt necessarily talking aboit wildlife, just roadkill.
In the south theres lots. I do alot of highway KMs here and i see a tonne. Ive become a master of diverting the womans attention. Mostly cats and dogs. Some pigs. Maybe fall off the truck? I dont know.
Last year me and some friends went into the countryside to a hotspring and i ran over a huge ass snake. One friends gf started immediately bugging me to turn around as its worth a fortune and we could sell it anywhere.
I was sure she was joking but after 2 or 3 K,s of her hounding me i realized she was dead serious , and i had to experience selling roadkill so i turned around and went back and the damn thing was gone! No way it slithered off. I killed it good and saw it in the rear view. In less than 3 minutes someone must have beat us too it!

Ha ha, best "larger than fiction" story of the year so far ^^
get real...watch closely...the smudge is there.....the meat is at the local restaurant
seen any birds over an ounce?
mike695ca:
Actually, that isnt true. They would never catch birds and sell them as chicken. And the reason is, pigeons and other birds are more expensive than chicken to sell them as is.
Country restaurants sell pigeons all the time, and people will travel for them.
