Q: FAO refused to give a letter of release or a letter of recommendation to me!

In August of this year, 2012, I emailed the FAO where I worked last year,  to ask if he would rehire me. He said yes, and said I must come ASAP, and he sent me a letter of invitation and a Z Visa form. That would have been great, except that my young daughter goes with me and he had her expired Passport Number on file, so he used that on the Z Visa form.  I emailed him  repeatedly and sent her new Passport Number, but he has been ignoring all my emails and will not contact me about the job. So, OK, if he found another teacher, that is OK, however, I need a LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION AND A LETTER OF RELEASE  from him. How can I make him do this? Obviously he thinks I am a good teacher, or he wouldn't have tried to rehire me. PLEASE HELP!

I don't understand what FAO is. Is it because he is on holiday?  If they don't  reply you after the holiday, do you need me to call and ask for you?  But, first tell me what FAO is. I am Chinese.

Foreign Affairs Office. All schools that hire foreign teachers have this office, which helps hire and process visa applications for the foreign teacehr. They also make sure we know and respect the schools rules and regulations.

Hi Brenda, I am Scott at CUIEE in Baotou, PRC.  We have three American teaching here and are needing more qualified teachers.  Our client load is increasing steadily so I'd like to know if you are interested in joining us.  Please let me know at your earliest convenience.  Teachers with family are welcome!  Best wishes and I hope things go well for you either way.

I'll see what we can do to proceed without a letter of recomendation.

A:Good question!  I'd say, if you study at Uni in China beside working full-time as an E.T. with Residence permit, you don't interfere with your full-time employment. It's your free time and you can do anything you want, with respect to the Chinese laws and customs. Have a look at terms of Z visa/Residence permit and ... ".. you cannot work (and earn monies!) with another employer ..."That's all it is! Your RP sponsor title is written on the RP stamp in your passport, I think. It's in Mandarin, so I've heard about that from someone ...At I.D.-ing by cops, they know where you work and than more details about you are just a phone call away ... and it happened in person ... LOL ... during the day-time stroll through Wulumuqi, Xinjiang, 2012/13 semester. Now under RP, you're free to surf Internet, jog, ... and study, too. I suggest, you look and ask at the Uni, you plan to study in the future. Have a detailed look at requirements for studying and attending chosen Uni.Good luck! -- icnif77
