Q: Flying into Seoul next month....
I heard US Passport holders can get Visa-on-Entry (30 days). Would that still be the case? Reasonable fee?

No visa is required. You can stay for up to 90 days.
Quick edit to say that you need proof of onward or return travel.

Yeah return trip is needed, I didn't have one because we wanted to choose later after we searched a few more destinations so we had to book a flight and wait for the email and than we got through.
