Q: Is this funny? I thought it was real funny.

Out at the restaurant last night and, as per usual, the fella drops down the bottles of beer and promply walks away.

As you'll be aware these bottles aren't screw caps and a bottle opener is required.

And as you'll also be aware a bottle opener isn't anywhere to be seen.

So our conversation..my Chinese mate who has rudimentary English at best, and myself...goes like this;

"Mate, was is that dickhead thinking about?  How the hell are we supposed to open these bottles without an opener?"

"The person is a waiter, not a professor."

"Sigh...how can we help these people?"

"They could do some study in how to think."

Gees I laughed.  Is this funny or what!

Anything funny ever happen down your way?

You can use two bottles to open one another. Or use a tabletop (once you've chewed through a table or two, they'll get the hint). This is why I always carry a Swiss army knife.

What I hate is "use the floor or your plate" as an ashtray. Yes, smoking is a bad habit but when I smoke in a restaurant with a smoking section, I at least expect to be provided with an ashtray.

...and at the same time, the waiters:

"Why  he cannot open the bottle?"

"He probably professor, not waiter."

"How we can help him?"

"They can do some study in how to think."

Yes Skunkman...very good!

And if there was an Einstein amongst them that would've been her best effort.

If logic didn't get in the way of my thought processes, this reversal might actually be funny.

It you fold a 100RMB note tightly, you can pop the cap with that. In a bar that fails to service people, consider using the edge of their tables.

Haven't.  But I will.  Ta.

Yes I can be resourceful, and I am, but that's not the point.  The point is, what's their point!

Bunch of wasters..

And Chinese people...what's with them?  Have you ever met one with a brain!?!  (Spouse's notwithstanding.  Tongue )

No no no.... Ok, Yes.

But there are some amongst them...perhaps Chinese wives are the exception to the rule.  Otherwise we're deficient...a bunch of dickheads.

A real foreigner would have just bitten the top off the beer bottle.

A:Your potential employer is right! Purpose of the Medical exam before granting Z visa is to make sure, you won't be entering China in any abnormal and harmful to others condition.Few days after your arrival to China, you'll be required to complete another ME ... If ME in China will be OK, you'll get a Residence permit stamp into your book some 10-days afterwards. Imagine, you're an employer, who can sponsor my entry and work in China, but after my arrival to China would be found I carry some sickness, which would prevent Chinese .gov to issue a Residence permit. Rule is: Z visa should be converted into Residence permit in 30-days after entry to China.    So, my advice is:"Complete ME in your home country and forward medical results to your employer".Z visa grant will follow shortly afterwards. Employer is not wrong at their demand for the pre-arrival ME from your home country hospital.   -- icnif77
