Q: Has anyone done any long distance cycling here?

Like a 200km ride over a couple of days, The most ive done in a single time here is 40km, but im keen to get kitted up and push for more, Maybe from city to city in north china, any suggestions or known popular routes.
It would have to have a guest house or hostel on the route though as it would be over 2 days.

I've only done 40kms myself! Wear full colors and lights so that you are visible to other traffic to keep you safe.

Check with some of the bike shops in your area. They often get groups together and go for rides. They might just have a plan!

I belong to a cycling club in Northeast China.  Please pm me for more details.

In my club, from March until November, we ride 40 kms every day, after work, during the workweek.  On weekends. there is usually a 150 kilometer one-day ride each day.  1/2 the club goes on Saturday, the other half on Sunday.

We do a lot of backwater, countryside long-distance rides on secondary roads and truly it has been a great way to get to see the countryside.

In November, the rides and frequency drop and in December - February almost nothing, althought the braver ones start to ride again when the weather picks up to 0 C.

I'd be glad to advise you on this or help you out.  Most likely your city also has a cicycling club -- mine has four that follow the major bike companies : a TREK club, a Giant club, a Merida club and a Format (Russian bicycle) club.

Nice to see this post...happy riding.

A:I had a similar experience in HK. If I recall correctly, before or at the Z visa application, I had to submit ME from the ordinary HK clinic, where I explained why I need ME and I asked them to examine only necessary things (I don't remember the cost ...), and then ... I got Z stamp and when back in China, I had to complete another RP ME, which was on the employer, i.e. included in the Contract ...We've never discussed refund of payment for HK ME with my employer. Year 2013 ...I'd say, that is a regular thingy embassies around the world require, before issuing visas for LT stay in the country. "Vladimir Vladimiro-Witch ras-Putin" (LOL@your pronunciation ..) demands the same thingy before granting LT stay in Ruski.  ... Haa, 2013 was the Snowden's year. I was in Kowloon at the time of his landing .. with all these files ... I'm-Still-in-LMAO-State ... Cost for the ME in HK was around HK$ 2000/200 EUR, and ME was kind of swift, quicker and way shorter than on the mainland ... -- icnif77
