Q: Has anyone ever played the "sanguosha" (三国杀) card game?

Anyone play this?

As a board games/ card games nerd, I've noticed that this game seems to be really popular among young Chinese crowds.

I'm wondering if it is hard to learn how to play for a non-native speaker, and if there is an english guide book availible?

If that is like that magic game you can pick up packs of those cards in the 7-ll stores. And yes it is hard to play as there wouldn't be any english instructions for you to learn how to play. Everything would be in Chinese. If you can read and understand chinese you will be able to find those cards at 7-ll though, but it's a long game from what I've heard.

Hi Peter, I am not Chinese and didn't study Chinese until college, but I have learned to play 三国杀。At work, my whole team is Chinese, so we play every Friday at lunch. On my first week, I didn't know how to play, but I read the cards and listened to my coworkers explain how to play in Chinese, and I actually won as 内奸 (renegade).

If you have trouble reading Chinese, the game will be challenging for you to learn, especially the characters each with their specific abilities (similar complexity to Magic the Gathering cards). The core mechanics are quite simple, however, and can be learned by playing Bang, the game 三国杀 that was ripped off of.

Ok, I have to go now - we are about to play!

A:I had a similar experience in HK. If I recall correctly, before or at the Z visa application, I had to submit ME from the ordinary HK clinic, where I explained why I need ME and I asked them to examine only necessary things (I don't remember the cost ...), and then ... I got Z stamp and when back in China, I had to complete another RP ME, which was on the employer, i.e. included in the Contract ...We've never discussed refund of payment for HK ME with my employer. Year 2013 ...I'd say, that is a regular thingy embassies around the world require, before issuing visas for LT stay in the country. "Vladimir Vladimiro-Witch ras-Putin" (LOL@your pronunciation ..) demands the same thingy before granting LT stay in Ruski.  ... Haa, 2013 was the Snowden's year. I was in Kowloon at the time of his landing .. with all these files ... I'm-Still-in-LMAO-State ... Cost for the ME in HK was around HK$ 2000/200 EUR, and ME was kind of swift, quicker and way shorter than on the mainland ... -- icnif77
