No, and I wouldn't try it either. Some hot air balloon got caught on fire and burned to the ground. I forget where it was from but I remember hearing that Hong Kong residents or it might have been residents from china went on the ride and it burned down. So until they make it safer I won't be riding one.

  I think that was in Yangshuo. The guys giving the rides didn't have the faintest idea what they were doing, or so I heard.

The one Silva is referring to is the most recent incident in Egypt. But yes there was also an incident a few years ago whereby a number of European tourists died in Guilin when their balloon crashed.
