There's a guy in my neighourhood who seems to be practicing Tai-Chi literally all the time. He's there when I leave for work and when I come back (which by that logic means I am either leaving or returning from work literally all the time).
Anyway, he seems to be having a ball. I always fancied it as it must be a great way to calm down here.
I took it for two years while I was in Guilin. At first, I th ought it was really cool, but eventually I got bored.
Also, I was getting tired of being the only one practicing who still has his teeth....
Still, I am glad I had that experience!
I taught at some places that actually did this as part of the daily morning exercise...wouldn't say I took it up if it was right there. Also, at another place some guy was teaching this, but I just joined in. Again it was part of the daily morning exercise..
Yes, have been doing tai ji since coming to China. In summer it is a bit early for me to go to the park at 4:30 or 5:00 to join the fun. Chinese people are always intrigued when a western person can do tai ji or gong fu and are happy to invite a lao wai... and then to judge their ability. LOL
