Q: Health care in China, any good providers?

I am looking to get health insurance in China next year, I rather dish out a bit of money every month then have an accident or some health crisis that leaves me utterly broke.

I am healthy (i think), workout and stuff but you can never be too sure!

I am looking for health insurance that will cover hospital stays for more serious stuff as opposed to checkups and stuff. So if anyone knows or uses health insurance please help me out! And if it's not too expensive that would be better for me.

I was once go to really try to have understanding of insurance in China here, and i've come to a conclusion:

1. They'll  truly give you any benefits if you're having a VERY serious accident, or if u lose your life. *knock knock knock*

2. For hospital fee? they only cover like 80% of total value, with a limit that renew every year. for example you only got 6-10k funds available for a year. Got 10k hospital fee, they cover 4-8k, you pay for the rest. Worth it? your call.

How often you got that sick every year anyway?

3. Some cover pensions, and some make your money grows overtime, but I've done the MATH, it is much better if you can save up/invest your money somewhere else.

The reason? well money value degrades overtime, and quite fast for what i know. 200k for today may just be worth 50k in 20 years later, or less.

This may come as a shock to some, but realize this, they are insurance company in China, their first priority are of course, to earn money, our money.

Well all of the above are just my personal opinion.

Like the man said, you can never be too safe.

My wife just signed up for a full package with Ping An. No monthly payments. Yearly and it was about 7000rmb including Life Insurance. I assume that age and existing issues is a big factor in the price.

Personally, I thought the benefits were a bit ordinary but according to the missus, they were the best she could find.

I bought a worldwide policy through www.brokerfish.com based in Malaysia. Efficient company. The medical policy is with IMG. Bronze policy is about £700/7000RMB per year. Comprehensive cover and very low excess.

Can foreigners get Chinese health insurance packages?

www.brokerfish.com

I found some insurance policies on this website, only like 300 RMB a month, really impressed.

No I don't get sick often, I rarely go to the hospital, but just in case...
