My boyfriend doesn't always get the English in movies, and so I'd like to try and find Chinese subtitles for movies I've downloaded.
Anyone know where to look for these

I have the same issue with my wife. It's easiest to impliment the subtitles with vlc. Sometimes you'll have to play around with the delay (it'll give you an option for that when you load the subtitles, as they might be a second or two off from your copy of the movie.
subscene.com
opensubtitles.org
subtitlesource.org
to name a few.
As kchur said vlc by far the best option to watch movies with subtitles
depending on your player it can be hard to sync up the subtitles or even to play them.
Change both the video file and the subtitle file's name so that they are the same ( movie.avi for example) then when you open the movie file, the subtitle file should open up and sync automatically
Don't download movies, stream them with some Chinese software like pipi player. The movies are allready there with the subtitles included.
dharma, streaming movies in China are very poor quality. The internet cannot support streaming HD movies yet. For the highest quality, the best solution is still to download the torrent and look for subtitles at websites such as subscene. Then you are ready to watch on the large TV or projector.

What? Are you serious?
Most movies I watch on PIPI Player are 720p quality.
They stream and play fine.

Yes, I am serious. I have never seen a Chinese streaming movie hold up when viewed on the big screen. Chinese watch movies on their computer and it may look fine there, but the compression looks horrible when viewed in the proper way.
if you do want to download some good movies here are some websites.
www.axxomovies.org - Has the most recent movies (No cam shit).
www.kat.ph - TV shows and movies.
Some of the movies you download already have the english subtitles in the folder.
Hopefully you found an answer to your question. I found this page searching Yahoo! for the same. My wife is Chinese. But as the mostly idiotic worthless responses prove, you're better off not trying to get help from most fellow expats.
Your question was simple. You asked where you can download Chinese subtitles FOR MOVIES YOU HAD ALREADY DOWNLOADED. I also have lots of movies downloaded that are English, so I'd love for my wife to get to enjoy them. Those movies are not on the Chinese moie sites, thus the need to find Chinese .srt (subtitle) files for them. Most of the answers you received were totally irrelevant. Subom.net is the only one I've been able to find that has subtitles for classic movies, such as The Bad Seed, which we watched last night. And they have Bad Day at Black Rock. For some movies there are lots of choices, so I downloaded all, and tested them until I found the right match.
I wound up here, because I was looking for more or better sources. And it p-d me off that there were the typical opinionated wanna sound like they know it all ignorant useless replies, except tor kchur and bisguy's first answer. Since this is a website for expats in China, why would a site that had subtitles for other countries be of any use. Hopefully, you're back in your home country not having these problems. After 6 years, I found that most people that go to China are the least friendly, most smoke and drink too much, which typically equals low morals and most of all are arrogant show-offs that really have nothing to be showing off. I was told my first year by an American who'd been there 11 years, that most expats won't give you the time of day. In here city, they all hung at one of the few pubs.

Who's the twat...you deride everyone else's answer although they gave sound advice...or you, who's trying to convince someone who posted their question FOUR YEARS AGO?
