Anyone know of any good travel/booking sites or tricks for finding out about flight deals etc.? And please, don't say Ctrip or Elong. I despise those 2 websites!

I would try in person first, at Travel agencies in the city you are.
On the Internet, search for China or Hong Kong deals. I have HK agency sending me an emails weekly, but I deleted everyone. As soon as I get new email, I'll get you web link.
Search on google for flight in any big Chinese city. You will find flights for SE Asia, too.
If there's some particular country you want to visit, you should check out that country's domestic airlines. For example, if you wanted to travel to the Philippines, you could check out the individual websites for Philippine Air, Cebu Pacific, and Zest.
Otherwise, I'll second the suggestion for Kayak, and throw in Orbitz as well
visit air Asia website for your requirement..it is the cheapest airline in this south east Asia region
Flight Centre Hong Kong <marketing@flightcentre.com.hk>
This is website, which is sending me weekly info about discount flights from HK or China to around the World.
Web link didn't come out right! Just google 'flight center'.
one of my friend in shenzhen work in a agent maybe can find for you.
Air Asia is generally pretty cool - I flew Beijing-Kuala Lumpur return for only around 1500 yuan last Sept
I would like to say that just search on Google according to your area and you will get the results.
