Q: How to find a teacher?

Hi everyone!

I have been serving on a leadership position where I am required to recruit many different Subject Specialists. The problem in China is this that I can not find a quality teacher. Either teachers are not qualified or are very greedy and demanding. We offer a very competitive salary package as compared to other international schools.I would like to know how to find quality subject specialists for  English, Mathematics , Physics, Chemistry,   Biology and some other subjects?

Any suggestions friend?

Why would a school that has a HR department have to spam on a website like ECC?

How do you the find 'quality' specialists' you are looking for?

Take out classified ads in reputable publications internationally.

I would worry about working for a place that can not even get the basics right.

You recruit subject teachers for an international school? Surely a professional international school would have a HR department for recruiting?

you say the qualified teachers are greedy yet you offer a competitive salary? How much do you offer monthly for a properly qualified & certified subject teacher? In my understanding the salary for qualified teachers is around 24k/month plus benefits.

Yes, we do have an HR department that receives bundle of resume.I personally review every resume in detail and try to find the person of my choice. We offer between 22,500-26000 RMB month after tax plus a free accommodation and food allowance (400 RMB/month).We also offer 10,000 RMB as end of the year bonus. Believe me,it took me two months to find a language teacher for IGCSE.

Cheers for the feedback! Definitely competitive salaries you're offering. There must be international teacher recruiting sites out there?

Try with job adverts in Western newspapers.

Once, you're 'counting' how many months you spent to get suitable FT, you're telling (me) your offer is blast. If you consider two months hiring 'long', you should 'up' your offer, and see faster hiring results after that.

Hiring good worker is ongoing process.

You're full of shit. If you really did offer a competitive salary you would have stated the details. And its not just about salary, legal and correct visa, working hours, etc.

Your post is proof positive that you are a poorly run shitty  school looking to hire scum for scummy pay and you are mad because the scum behaves like scum. I've seen plenty of FAOs scratch their ass. And they also scratched their heads confused as to why the guy they hired under a business visa turned out wrong.

Fuck off!!!!

And what Sorrel said
