Nobody in their right mind should want to drive here to begin with, but if you can't pass the simple written test then you really shouldn't be driving at all.
thought you could pay someone to do it for you, i plan to do it for a moped- been driving 5 years done the full test here but cant be asked to do a written one in china.
how hard can it be for a written test, there doesn't seem to be any real rules for driving. the only way to flunk is if the test is in Chinese and you can't read it,, in that case use the last choice on the mulitple choice and attach a 100Y note to it.
To take only the written test, you must have with you your passport and visa, permits, etc, plus pass a medical exam (for the license) and your valid driver's license plus a certified translation of it.
Age requirements are as follows. Under 60 you get a 5 year license, between 60 and 65 you get a 2 years one, from 65 to 70 you get a one year, and above 70 you get nothibg.
You can request an English examination, if they do not have one then you can have an interpreter with you, bring one that has a local driver's license and he can tell you the answers you do not know. To pass the exam you must answer correctly 90 out of 100 questions. If you fail, you can re-take it at a later day.

The test is toooooo easy, so if the foreigner is too stupid to pass it then he should refrain from driving, even in China.
Of course, there are multiple ways to get it without taking any test, but it's a bit more expensive than taking it
