Q: How to run a summer camp?

The school Im working for would like to run some sort of summer camp for students, as Im English I thought in the UK would be best. I dont really have much idea about what a summer camp should involve as ive never been on one. I'm guessing some English learning, some fun activities and some exploring of the culture and places you visit. I looked at some UK weekend outdoor adventure and activity centres which could be good for part of the summer camp...but none that provide things for foreign visitors all aimed at English kids...

I would like to hear from anyone who has arranged one of these or similar, are there some companies which will organize these types of things inc visa etc. anyone have any idea of costs or problems we might have?

I hope I can get lots of Ideas on this, i have quite some time to plan and arrange it all but it seems like a huge task...hope you can help thanks Wink

for students to go to the uk? in the US there are special cultural exchange programs where young adults pay a huge fee to a company and that company sets them up with jobs in tourist industry hotels, resorts etc or factories like hershey . recently a group odf them protested their low wages and americans are growing angrier and angrier about it, because it takes jobs away from americans and it is a way for companies to escape paying taxes and using cheap labor (minimum wage)
you could setup something like that but more like volunteering and without all the negative aspects

What my school really wants to do is sell the trip to students around 13-16years this would just be a summer camp, go learn some English, see some sights, have some fun etc...no working or long term stay maybe just 1 to 2 months...

A:Good question!  I'd say, if you study at Uni in China beside working full-time as an E.T. with Residence permit, you don't interfere with your full-time employment. It's your free time and you can do anything you want, with respect to the Chinese laws and customs. Have a look at terms of Z visa/Residence permit and ... ".. you cannot work (and earn monies!) with another employer ..."That's all it is! Your RP sponsor title is written on the RP stamp in your passport, I think. It's in Mandarin, so I've heard about that from someone ...At I.D.-ing by cops, they know where you work and than more details about you are just a phone call away ... and it happened in person ... LOL ... during the day-time stroll through Wulumuqi, Xinjiang, 2012/13 semester. Now under RP, you're free to surf Internet, jog, ... and study, too. I suggest, you look and ask at the Uni, you plan to study in the future. Have a detailed look at requirements for studying and attending chosen Uni.Good luck! -- icnif77
