My happiest memory was when I first arrived in China, in 2003. It was so exciting. A new country. A new life. A strange and exotic civilisation.
The girl from the government agency I was lecturing for met me at Shanghai airport. She was a beautiful lass, with the warmest and friendliest smile imaginable. I still remember the first words she spoke to me: "There is a problem with your contract..."
It hasn't stopped since...
