Q: I don't need a flashlight, can I donate my points to hungry children ?

If there is a trustworthy organization that could be supported, then instead of of me getting a flashlight, perhaps a hungry child could have some vegetables ?

Not sure what the value of the flashlights are, but I am sure they could fund a small bag of rice.

Who would chip in their points if the site could make us believe they actually went and gave some food or other charitable stuff for those who need it.

We should petition for an extra option as 'donating points to the needy'.

icnif77:

On the other side, 'points' here can't be too 'useful'. Can you imagine, frequency of the posts (and Q) here, if you could exchange it for 'beer or two per week?'

I've just realised that my new coat from last winter has gone.  It was a deluxe coat and one very much needed in north west Xinjiang.  And now I recall someone (Devil?) redeemed their points for a cool new coat and perhaps that's something I could do.  However, the above suggestion is a beauty and I'd be delighted if something could come of it.  I'd be in it in a shot.

What of it, Admin?

It would be a paradigm for an expat website. We donate our points and we can help those truly in need  - food (can be according to the region where the posters are located), educational materials (again, by region), a psychiatrist for Vicky (only Shanghai posters and White Knights)....

F**k the poor, donate your points to me, I want two flashlights. Not a popular idea? Ok, well then yes, i'm on board. Throwing a pittance at the world's poor is, afterall, practically tradition. LET'S DO SOME GOOD!

Why do hungry children need flashlights?

Scandinavian:

That is an excellent question.

I guess if you're hungry enough, eating a flashlight is better than no eating anything. Or maybe the idea is to have an option on the "Redeem Points" section where you instead of getting stuff could "Donate Points to the Hungry"

A:Good question!  I'd say, if you study at Uni in China beside working full-time as an E.T. with Residence permit, you don't interfere with your full-time employment. It's your free time and you can do anything you want, with respect to the Chinese laws and customs. Have a look at terms of Z visa/Residence permit and ... ".. you cannot work (and earn monies!) with another employer ..."That's all it is! Your RP sponsor title is written on the RP stamp in your passport, I think. It's in Mandarin, so I've heard about that from someone ...At I.D.-ing by cops, they know where you work and than more details about you are just a phone call away ... and it happened in person ... LOL ... during the day-time stroll through Wulumuqi, Xinjiang, 2012/13 semester. Now under RP, you're free to surf Internet, jog, ... and study, too. I suggest, you look and ask at the Uni, you plan to study in the future. Have a detailed look at requirements for studying and attending chosen Uni.Good luck! -- icnif77
