Q: If I order something on internet using pinyin, will it work?

Seems like a fairly silly question altogether really.

Anyways, on amazon.ca, I found something I really liked (which I was unable to find on taobao). The product is shipped from Hong Kong, but amazon.ca won't let me enter Chinese characters for my address.

What are my chances of ever receiving the product if I type everything in pinyin?

Address, no problem. I receive packages from my family in the States and they do not write Chinese characters when i lived in Guilin and in Beijing.

GuilinRaf:

Let me add: Include a phone number on the label, either yours or that of a friend who can speak chinese. Sometimes the delivery person (even China Post) will get lost and will need directions or they wont take it up your stairs and you need to come down.
