Q: Is it cheaper to buy an international return airfare in China or purchase it from your country.

I want to buy an air ticket China Australia China. Have searched the usual websites and it looks like it is actually a fair bit cheaper to buy it from a travel agent in Australia that to purchase it in China. Is this true.

Look at online sites (travel agents) which airline flying the time you like to go. and go directly to that airline`s website and get your ticket that way.
You will get it for less than any travel booking agent.

Woody, I use Expedia and Orbitz. Slightly cheaper than my Oz travel agent. If you want to make all your own arrangements it's the way to go. If you want to get an agent to do it all it's ok too, saves you the hassle of working thru different airlines etc. But I've had no problems with the above mentioned.

By the way: you go to: farecompare.com

Thanks.

By the way I only use an agent after i have found the cheapest available airfare on the net or advertised. I then go with that info to "Flight Centre" in Australia who beat the price by 1$ plus give me a $20 voucher to use on a domestic fare in Australia in the next 12 months. That way I get service from an agent and save money.

A:I had a similar experience in HK. If I recall correctly, before or at the Z visa application, I had to submit ME from the ordinary HK clinic, where I explained why I need ME and I asked them to examine only necessary things (I don't remember the cost ...), and then ... I got Z stamp and when back in China, I had to complete another RP ME, which was on the employer, i.e. included in the Contract ...We've never discussed refund of payment for HK ME with my employer. Year 2013 ...I'd say, that is a regular thingy embassies around the world require, before issuing visas for LT stay in the country. "Vladimir Vladimiro-Witch ras-Putin" (LOL@your pronunciation ..) demands the same thingy before granting LT stay in Ruski.  ... Haa, 2013 was the Snowden's year. I was in Kowloon at the time of his landing .. with all these files ... I'm-Still-in-LMAO-State ... Cost for the ME in HK was around HK$ 2000/200 EUR, and ME was kind of swift, quicker and way shorter than on the mainland ... -- icnif77
