Q: Is it illegal to cohabit with a Chinese girl?

Are there any rules or laws concerning cohabiting in China?

1. Check her age

2. Find out whether her father and /or uncles own firearms.

3. Ask yourself - do you really want to do this?

4. Has she got a job?

Apart from no. 1 there are no laws but 2 3 and 4 you might find more important.

If you are not married and the girl is under 18 the answers is "Yes" - you are technically committing a crime (assuming you are a man of course!).  But since there are a few hundred thousand criminals committing this crime in Beijing you may be on the enforcement "waiting list" for a decade or two.

P.S. This law varies from province to province and surprisingly, Chinese law makes no allowances for roommates!

You can live with one, but cohabitation is over the line.
