My bathroom is suddenly infested with little black flies coming out of the sink. I tried pouring bleach down the drains but that's not helping. Do you think it would be reasonable to ask the landlord for help? I'm always quite hesitant to involve the landlord because she's not friendly.
I had little black flies, at first I thought they were fleas. They seem to like the water on the floor. I just washed them down the drain every time I showered. Try putting a stopper in your sink to cover the hole and wash them down the drain daily.

a tall jar --- a piece of paper rolled into a cone and some apple cider or vinegar, maybe a chunk of banana
sealed ...they can get in but too stupid to get out
Dissolve bleach in the bucket, filled with water, and splash it down the drain few times a day. You can have 1l bottle of bleach for a week or two (12 Rmb).
I involve landlord in anything necessary in the apartment, since he earn money with the rent. I am sure, he'll became 'unfriendly' after I am done with 'renovations' of the School's brand new, rented apartment.
Currently, he is working on the new bathroom water heater. Next, we (he) will work on replacement of WC bowl. Installed one is rubbish, because last hole (opening) on the bowl is too small. Bowl is made in China, by Chinese standards. 5 l toilet flusher is ineffective. I must use 15 l water bucket to efficiently flush the toilet. There is also no toilet paper holder installed in WC.
School is paying rent for the apartment. I told Headmaster, since School is paying rent, apartment should be functional. Headmaster had a talk with the owner.
Try the vinegar jar method, and then make sure your sink has a stopper, and the shower drains have covers. Common problems here, and I think you're wise not to bother involving the landlady, especially if she's not friendly. It's an easy fix.
Of course you can ask her for help if you can't cope with it.
Just pour in some Great Wall "wine". That'll do the trick. Kills everything from flies to brain cells to 8-billion-year-old civilizations...
That's gross Big Red. Where are you living at? If you want to get rid of them you could call the exterminator or you could simply get another animal that likes to eat fly's. Try getting a spider and tossing it down there I'm sure it would love to catch itself some flies, black flies that is.
