Sign up with Google Sign up with FacebookQ: London now has a Muslim mayor...
So what?
Apparently, 12% of the London population are Muslim... meaning, the other 88% are not.
And, yet, this guy still gets voted in...
One must wonder why!!!
Well, if one ONLY looks at religious or rational backgrounds, one must wonder why!
If one only looks at politics in voting trends, maybe it's damn obvious why he got elected. He's the better candidate! He's seen as being not only a better representative for the city, but also seen as a person more in line with what the city wants, and how to achieve that.
However, Rotterdam (The Netherlands) has had a Muslim mayor for at least a couple of years (since 2009!!) - I don't see any serious problems in that country (of they size and type the xenophobes are indicating*). Last year, after the Paris bombings, he very publicly told Muslims in The Netherlands, that if they didn't want to be Dutch and adopt and follow Dutch values, then they should fk off! ("pack their bags" and other quotes.. which my net connection is now not letting me see :( )
Australia has had a Muslim in the Federal parliament since 2010... I don't hear calls from him saying we need more mosques, and calling for all women to cover up (or closing down beaches... or outlawing alcohol....).
Congratulations Sadiq Khan!
(* I'm sure The Netherlands does have problems - as all countries do. But a sudden upsurge in extremist Islamism and terrorist activity is NOT one of them!)
(Now, what are the chances of the Islamophobes actually apologising...???? I'm figuring about none... they'll just keep up with the mantra of "you just wait and see!")
What is it to the with China? Who cares uk ? Just talk about China related subjects in this forum
coineineagh:
No can to the with in this forum. Who carries thelatinodancer?
Shining_brow:
A) EVERYTHING can be linked back to China if one tries.
b) one of the changes to the forum is that it's NO LONGER China related only! I guess you missed that bit!
ambivalentmace:
china is too boring and predictably screwed up to keep a forum interesting.
Shouldnt all see him just as a London'er (a UK citizen) and his qualifications for the office (Religion should be his private matter).
ScotsAlan:
It is indeed lord H. But not constitutionally, because we don't have a constitution. We have state schools that are faith based for example. The Queen is head of state, and defender of the faith. Prince Charles could not marry Camilla in a Church because they were both divorced. I think the secular aspect of the UK is a gentleman's agreement. And in a way, that's a benefit to our democracy. Our elected officials are expected to represent all people in their constituency, no matter what their faith.
Lord_hanson:
Of course we have a constitution, that's why the system is called a constitutional monarchy.
I wrote this as a reply to a negative comment about his election on another thread. Going to repeat myself here.
Yes, Sadiq Khan's family are Pakistani, he's British by birth. Grew up on a council estate and made something of his life himself. This guy will try and do things for the ordinary people of London, unlike his main (losing) contender Zac Goldsmith who was born with a silver spoon up his arse, given his businesses by his family and before becoming an MP was non-domiciled in the UK to avoid paying UK taxes.
The people of London made the right choice.
Additionally the people of London also ignored the inbuilt and insidious racism from Goldsmiths campaign. My only regret from this election was that Britain First got 32k votes. Khan will need to work harder than a non-Muslim mayor to show the minority of people worried about Islam that they have nothing to fear.
philbravery:
and ill repeat mine i dont need to know about uk politics to spot a disease. at least in Australia voting is compulsory so as long as the Labour Party and the Greens dont get seats we are better off .
Hotwater:
The only disease in the London Mayoral election were the lies spread by the Conservative & Britain First candidates. Even members of Goldsmiths own party are now saying that.
Compulsory voting? You're taking away people's freedom of choice by forcing them to vote.
Shining_brow:
Hots - I think we've had this discussion before, so I figure you're only stirring the pot.. but....
Yes, from the age of 18, one is supposed to enrol to vote (many don't). The upshot being, come election day, you must go to the voting booth, have your name crossed off the list (or do an absentee vote, and get them, to do some work), be given your bits of paper, and walk into a booth. What you do after that is up to you (as long as you don't destroy the booth, etc).
That's why, in Aus, there's a reasonable % of 'donkey votes' - votes that don't have any value... either the voter doesn't understand what they have to do, or they intentionally do something they're not supposed to. Eg, put in letters instead of numbers, put in two 1's, etc. And, of course, not voting for anyone!
We also have a preferential voting system - so while voters may not get the most liked person or party, they do get the least worst. Meaning, while A may not get the most 1st choice votes, they may get the most 1st AND 2nd choice votes!
Which means, if a party (who elects their leader, who will become the Prime Minister while the party still approves of them) gets 58% of the 'vote' (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc preferred choice), they have a fairly good reason to say "we have a mandate from the people". (although, at 58% - I'd say it's not much of one!)
I think I'll start a thread on this....
A politician's stated religion is only a problem if we make it one. Has nothing to do with terrorism by any stretch of the imagination. People care too much about symbolism:
People vote for a black guy, they get a watered-down politician with right-leaning policies.
People vote for a muslim guy, they get a watered-down politician with right-leaning policies.
People vote for a woman, they get a watered-down politician with right-leaning policies.
People vote for a gay guy, they get a watered-down politician with right-leaning policies.
People vote for a racist, they get a watered-down politician with right-leaning policies.
People vote for a total asshole, hey this watered-down politician with right-leaning policies won't let you down.
People vote for a well-intentioned democratic socialist, hey what are you plebs doing, voting with your brains and not your hearts?! Let's rig the voting process as bad as we can to disenfranchise you, because the establisment wants its watered-down politician with right-leaning policies.
And while everyone is distracted by flags and race and religious institutions and sexuality and drugs, nameless, faceless financial insitutions bleed the wealth out of the country and tell us it's out fault because [insert flag/religion/talking point]. In fact it's our idiot tax:
{media} Hey, it's cool to be an idiot!
{people} [idiotic opinions]
{establishment} Hey that's cool, now pay your idiot tax.
{people} Idiot tax so high - we no like.
{media} It's those [other] that make you [ingroup] look uncool. Go get 'em!
{people} [rabble rabble ranty rant kaboom!]
{establishment} It's their own fault. Stupid idiots...
Hi SB, remember me? the teacher who had the deep brow from a certain HR who messed up my chances with moving on. Well I moved on soon after. I like your answer to the London Mayor and good luck to Sadiq Khan. Like all other newly elected politicians/mayors he must be given his chance to fulfill his mandate.
Hopefully he will be successful irregardless of race, colour...
I lived in London for 5 years in the 90's. Fantastic city. Probably the most diverse place in the world.
If I still lived there I would probably have voted for Sadiq. He is a left winger after all, and why his policies are not as far left as I would want, I would have voted for him over the other candidates.
As HowWhyWhen says above, his religion should have nothing to do with the election. People should vote for policies.
I have felt a bit dissapointed with the world news coverage on the results of this election. The headline should read " London swings left" , rather than " Muslim man elected Mayor of London". Londoners, with their vote have shown to the world that background is not as important as policy, but the media don't want to cover that.
But I will say, I have enjoyed the exploding heads over on the Britain First FB page. Lol. They managed to get 31k votes, and I think the BNP managed to get about 15k. So we can say there are about 45-50k racist biffers in London. That's not too bad for a city of 8.5 million.
Indeed, maybe under the new Mayors socialist policies, education will improve and the number of biffers will go down.
And now for my usual American centered comment.
Donald Trump, when asked if the new London Mayor would be allowed in the USA if Trump was POTUS, Trump said exceptions can always be made.
Wow. When I think about what he just said, my head spins.
How about if Sadiq Khan converted to another religion. Then he could visit the USA no problem.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Const...
Something about the right to practice religion freely, and something about the state not being allowed to establish religion.
The UK is a secular country. It's Government are secular, and although Queen is head of State and Head of the Church of England, politicians do not stand for office on religious agendas.
But when the potential leader of the free world can display such intolerance towards an entire religion, it's no wonder the world media consider the new Mayors religion to be more important than his political manifesto.
The world, I fear is being dumbed down by the lowest common denominator, bigotry and fear.
Shining_brow:
Doesn't the UK have anti-hate laws? If so, would London's new mayor ban Trump from visiting?
I'd like to think you were entirely right (haha... ) with what you wrote.. But I also suspect at least some voters voted for him purely because he's Muslim, the same way a large percentage of people voted for Obama cos he's black. The whole "first X" thing. As I wrote above, Rotterdam has had a Muslim mayor for a few years, and yet I bet no-one (including myself until I went hunting) knew about it... It's SO much easier to go lizard-brain and ignore facts!
It's a little amusing to note that none of our usual righties have joined this thread to say anything even remotely worth reading! As we've said in the past, even though some of us really disagree over politics, at least some are actually able to debate it - rather than merely rant (although, it often does get to that level).
ScotsAlan:
I dare say there will be loads of people who voted for him because he is a Muslim, just in the same way some people voted for Ted Cruz because he is an evangelist.
The UK right wing are saying " London has fallen". They claim the " Native British People" are outnumbered by "immigrants", and that white Brits are now in the minority.
What a load of rubbish these people spout.
Sadiq Khan is born and bred in London, and the people of London voted for him to be their Mayor.
The right wing politicians and hate filled bigots want to divide society on racial and religious grounds. The people of London have stuck two fingers up at them and voted for the person they want.
And yes, If Trump went to London and spoke of banning Muslims etc, he possibly could be arrested for hate crimes.
That's not because the UK has been taken over by the loony left PC brigade, it's because the British people believe everyone has the right to live their life without fear of hate crimes being committed against them.
philbravery:
and because people choose not to vote they get what they deserve. at least here even with informal voting the majority have the final say and not a minority with big lungs that squeal like a stuck pig when they are outnumbered
Viki87:
Trump call a ban for all muslins to enter the US is just for temporary before the US firgure out what's going on.
He also said exception can be made for the new London mayor to enter the US. The London mayor is a mayor in London even he's muslin, so trump believe he's not terrorist.
I do not understand where do all those criticism come? It's just nonsense to criticize Trump for being racist.
ScotsAlan:
Vicky.
Trump wants to be president of the United States. Leader of the free world and all that.
I would sort of hope he knew what was was going on before he applied for the job.

NEWSFLASH
The smart middle class conservatives who can not afford bodyguards have already left London, so there is no voters for the conservatives and their complacency is the reason. Two decades of political correctness and looking the other way, see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. Omg, there is evil everywhere , how did this happen?
philbravery:
I see the pc police are upset that the cops yeld out Allah Akbar during a terrorist training exercise. lol so what would they like them to say in a simulation of a terrorist attack oh i say would you all line up so i can kill you . ffs more leftist wank
retiredinchina:
I'm sure his religions has nothing to do with his actions as a mayor, he was lying on TV to get their vote and did not mean anything he said.Shining_brow:
And here comes the idiocy...
Firstly - how many centuries were the British conservatives (aka, royals, lords, etc) doing anything they damn well pleased?
Secondly - how long was the church getting away with similar?
Thirdly - pretty sure all those TV personalities weren't Muslim, nor were they under a Muslim sanctioned organisation.
Trying to make a DIRECT link between Islam (in the UK... ) and pedophilia is just ridiculous! (yes, I do grant that Mohammed married a 9 year old girl.. but then, if we go back in history, we really don't want to look very hard at most nations!)
I also agree that police will drop the ball far too often on serious problems. So too the politicians (ALL politicians).
As for the other link of him attending lectures organised by 'extremist' Islamic parties... I notice that the article does NOT mention ANYTHING about what he actually said at the speech! I also note that on one hand, you will advocate 'freedom of speech', and then on the other hand, when it doesn't suit you, you say such people should be censored - which do you actually want? (answer: you're free to say whatever you want as long as I agree with it!") I also note that there is NO mention of what any other speakers at the event had to say (which is probably because it doesn't help the Islamophobe agenda).
Khan is in a position to be a positive voice to young Muslims (who, yes, have reason to be angry when people like Trump and Khan's opponent express serious anti-Muslim agendas). Going to such a popular (for Muslims - look at the size of the crowd in the photo) is actually a GOOD idea to 'preach' about Islam in an English context... and to encourage a more understanding (ie, less extremist) attitude.
As for "conservatives leaving London" stuff... what does that say? Well, to me it shows they're rather intolerant of other people.
Praising the Islamic financial system? Sure, go ahead and cherry pick (nothing new there!), but maybe - just maybe - it does actually have some merits (not that you'll ever know, because you'll never bother reading to find out!! It's against alcohol and pig farming - it must be bad!!!) This is just the same ignorance that says all Muslims must be terrorists - because some are!
retiredinchina:
Thank you Neville Chamberlain Jr. for putting me on the straight and narrow and seeing the weakness of my argument, although i did not express an opinion, I just said they left London and posted the news from there, like all the rich will leave soon when London is as violent as Paris and Brussels, but that's a topic for next year.
philbravery:
at least Burger Boy told the truth when he said he would supply the idiocy well done on winning this years Darwin award again must be about 30 years in a row by now and a record at that
Shining_brow:
Phil - is there any chance you will actually write something worthy of people reading? Or are you just going to stick with your primary school level insults? I mean, seriously, the "I'm going to mock you just because you went to university" says WAY more about you than anything I can write.
@ Retired - "I did not post not express an opinion"
Yes, you did...
First post:
"The smart middle class conservatives who can not afford bodyguards have already left London, so there is no voters for the conservatives and their complacency is the reason. Two decades of political correctness and looking the other way, see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. Omg, there is evil everywhere , how did this happen?"
Second post:
"he was lying on TV to get their vote and did not mean anything he said".
This is your opinion.
ScotsAlan:
A 2 year old link to a right wing think tank. The "about us" section of that website says it all really.
Yup, bad things happened in Rotherham, and the Police failed, but the abusers are in Jail now. The Police were criticized heavily for that.
I don't see how that story is linked to the new London Mayor. He is in charge of the Metropolitan Police, not the South Yorkshire Police that failed those victims of child abuse that you reference above.
The Metropolitan Police did fail Stephen Lawrence however, and lessons were learned from that. But I think that predates the London Mayoral system.
The Gatestone institute does seem to be strong on law and order however, so what should the London Mayor do to keep London and it's visitors safe?
He could ban white American Christian men. They seem to account for a lot of deaths every year in the US. He might even ban American toddlers from visiting. I think American toddlers have shot 32 people so far this year.
He might even consider banning Australian men. After all, they pose a risk to young kids if we go by the actions of Rolf Harris, who is in a British Jail after being convicted of Child abuse against his daughters friend. He was tried in London.
Of course, what I say is ludicrous. The new Mayor should not ban anyone from visiting London, at least not on the basis of some racial or religious connection to a criminal in some part of the world.
So sorry. I don't see how your link to a criminal case in Yorkshire relates to the London Mayor.
ScotsAlan:
Just to add. I made an error above. Of course the Mayor can't ban people from the UK. Only the home office can do that. My point above is hypothetical.
retiredinchina:
yes, My friend Michael Savage is banned from Britain. I am very familiar with how the system works. The opinions were sarcasm about London, I'm not British and really don't have a horse in the race. People will look out for what is in their self interest, so they move, multicultural utopias have to be very vigilant because by there very nature they have made themselves a target of extremism.
retiredinchina:
All politicians lie on television, has nothing to do with religion, sarcasm. I'm quite sure London has the safest subways that have never been bombed, and no diplomats have ever been arrested for having slave labor servants and London is the bright shining example for all of your Europe to aspire to be just like them. How many honour killings did we have last year in Britain, doesn't matter, the IRA killed more so things are much better now. Severe sarcasm.
so if multiculturalizm is so great how come we have colonies instead of assimilation?
cant wait to find out how many immigrants are on the government beifits and dont work .
we used to welcome doctors and professional people now we get the dregs that want a easy life at the host countrys tax payers expence
I will say something for Chinese that live abroad in that i haven't met one tjat was on the unemployment benefit .
we have a census this year so hopefully we will have a clearer picture of the damage that has been done here .
islam wants to play the victim because a supposed few want to kill us ...well it is time the so called moderates clean house and clean up their mess.
isnt it funny how these terrorists can be tracked back to particular mosques yet the congragation know nothing . Shilts must be a Arabic name
I see nothing Ihear nothing I know Nothing.
so to all you bleeding harts have your utopia and pay for it but don't expect me to cover your account.
for me i have had conversations with Muslims in civilian life and the military
and they are just as victim card holders as the rest yet they do sweet fucking nothing to fix the problem.
in Australia it is the Sunie that weld the Islamic flag and yet dont represent the majority of followers yet due to being so vocal they are the ones we here from .
note most of the terrorists in resent times have been Sunie and come from Saudi and Qatar and sponsor I S and bin Ladens mob.
that asshole Mon Monas was a Iranian but a converted to Sunie.
this is also the area were the islamic invaders came from that forced Europe to begin the Crusades in defence .
But the do gooders forget this and it is not allowed to be taught in schools as it might upset someone.
A child care that my kids went to canceled Easter egg haunt in fear it would upset a parent .so myself and a dozen others changed daycares
within a week they offered us discounts to return but not change to policy only one family went back.(not mine)
so set up your multicultural Utopia in a tolerant Islamic Country and try wearing a cross or going to a Christian church just leave me alone.
ScotsAlan:
Intolerance works both ways. Yes of course. Yup. Christians don't want to bomb people. They don't want to torture. They don't want to discriminate. They want to forgive rather than execute. They don't want to throw people in jail for 999 years. The right wing claim to be Christian. They are not.
retiredinchina:
Forcing tolerance for any political belief or religious belief is infringing on and making someone follow your way of thinking, http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/france-sees-millionaire-exodus-religious-tensions-rise-1552423
Hotwater:
@ Phil. Do you want to try rewriting your rant when you're sober? It might make sense then!
@retiredinchina. Didn't really insert any of your incoherent reply. Maybe simplify it?
ScotsAlan:
For fucks sake. I got to line 2 of retiredinchinas post before I got bored. If you are in China dude, use a VPN to google Kevin Swanson + Ted Cruz + youtube. Cruz shared a stage with Swansan, after Swanson had said he wanted to kill all gay people. Cruz congratulated Swanson for a good speech. Cruz also said God wanted him to be POTUS. If you have trouble finding that specific youtube link, I suggest you try " Rachel Maddow Ted Cruz Kevin Swanson" Rachel Maddow explains it better than me.
nzteacher80:
Oh my Lord. Sorry to interrupt Phil and retardedinchina's xenophobic circle jerk but I'm getting a bit tired of the echinacities answers section getting turned into some kind of jackboot, goose stepping, right wing wet dream. Why don't you two get a hotel room and watch some Riefenstahl movies or perhaps the Rambo trilogy and give each other a damn good seeing to?
retiredinchina:
This is why Ted Cruz believes what he said Romans 1:25-28, not sure if this answers your question, but for the religious right, it's there bread and butter.
Funny how no Muzzie has commented just do gooder polite police .
Dam that guilt must run deep .
i notice that they don't like to debate facts and prefer the easy way out and just yell xenophobia .
i wish they would ban rose coloured glasses .
nzteacher80:
I'm no fan of religion. I agree with the premise that good people do good things and bad people do bad things but for good people to do bad things then that takes religion. However, in my life I have met many Muslims and 100% of them have been friendly, loyal, honest and charitable almost to a fault. This is just my personal experience and I can't speak for others. There is a certain amount of hypocrisy in railing against the dangers of multiculturalism while being a white expat living and working in a predominantly non-white country.
philbravery:
don't miss understand i have met more good than bad however that saying evil wins when good people do nothing so IMO this should equally apply to Muzzies
Hotwater:
You're showing your xenophobia (actually it's Islamophobia) by using the term Muzzie. It'd be xenophobia if you were calling them Paki's, Ragheads, etc.
There are "bad" Muslims out there but they are a small minority. Just like there are still a small minority of Republican terrorists in Ireland who still violently disagree with the peace process there. People from both these extremes need dealing with. The majority of peaceful Muslims and Irish Nationalists are okay.
I'm comparing the two, as you know, to make the point that not all terrorists are Muslims and vice versa.
ScrewIT:
I don't think there are many of Muslims in China or specifically in this board. Or perhaps could be busy minding their business instead of giving a batshit about the issue.
I visited Pakistan last year where I was stunned by the locals, amazingly different from what I knew from the outside about Pakistan. The hospitality and simplicity of those people was just remarkable. Having said that from my personal experience, I have learned to respect people the way they are probably not at the level one expects yet a lot better. I was told by the local friend that security situation is much better now but there was a bloodbath in the earlier years where more than 60000 civilians excluding army and policemen were killed by terrorists. I never knew about it and was of the same view that all Pakistanis are at it. I did realize that common people are the same elsewhere irrespective of their beliefs, working their asses out to feed themselves and may have nothing to do what we learn from bigoted media howls.
Stiggs:
I had the same experience in Malaysia and Indonesia. The people were great to me, they're mostly just normal people going about their lives.
I did realize that common people are the same elsewhere irrespective of their beliefs, working their asses out to feed themselves and may have nothing to do what we learn from bigoted media howls.
-a very true statement repeated above.... most people are GOOD!!!
london is now a seperate country
nzteacher80:
Umm... No. Did you read the article? Obviously not. The current mayor is pushing for greater economic autonomy and greater representation for his constituents - what any good politician should be doing. London voted against Brexit and is being compelled by all the other regions to comply with leaving the single market.
Would you prefer that he ignores his constituents and their needs?
I guess you probably suspect that he wants to implement sharia law and make all women wear burqas. Well, he doesn't. He's doing what he should be doing. Try reading the article you post next time.
ambivalentmace:
http://www.breitbart.com/london/2016/06/16/women-sent-back-khan-remain-speech/
women should stand in the back, not in the front, sharia law, whats that? i stand by the statement, london and londoners think they are different from their fellow citizens, just like new yorkers, just like people in shanghai, human behavior.
Hotwater:
Just had a look at that link and some other pages of that site. You can infer whatever you want from that photo. Breitbart pit their right wing slant on it, similar to how Britain First would do the same. You, and they, have no idea why the people in that photo are stiff in those positions. No mention of the grey haired white woman front left.
Shining_brow:
As for the 2nd link with the photo - "women relegated to the back"... really? Seriously??? How do you know this? How does anyone know this? Did they ask anyone, or just make an assumption from the photo (and not bother to look to closely).
Sure, there are a lot of women standing 'at the back'... but given that they're still only a few meters away, so what??? It's not like they've been sent 30 or 100 meters away and can't hear anything! They're obviously close enough to throw a shoe at!
AND... that's ONE photo... which is cut off on one side to show a very one-sided (ha!) picture! My eyes also show at least 1 (probably 2) women up close and personal (ie, towards the front).
But - I understand! You don't want to respect other people and their cultures. In your world, everyone MUST conform to YOUR ideas and attitudes. So, women HAVE TO BE up front of EVERY such event...
ambivalentmace:
NO. women should be standing anywhere they want to and not bow to the whims of sexist piece of crap humans that happen to be called "men".
Shining_brow:
True.... but that doesn't actually relate to the link, does it? At least, the direct connection cannot be made - only aspersions.
The "Khan spoke at a rally where women were wearing burqas and stood at the back means he's a racist mofo muslim asshat who should be put down (ors sent back to his own country)" doesn't actually fit the picture.... unless, of course, you want it to!
retiredinchina:
ambi, are you a fortune teller, tell us the gossip, your really a writer for foreign policy magazine.
What is it to the with China? Who cares uk ? Just talk about China related subjects in this forum
coineineagh:

Shining_brow:
A) EVERYTHING can be linked back to China if one tries.
b) one of the changes to the forum is that it's NO LONGER China related only! I guess you missed that bit!
ambivalentmace:
china is too boring and predictably screwed up to keep a forum interesting.
The religion of peace and harmony strikes again, can you feel the love, can I get an amen from the crowd. Turn your hymnals to page 188 for Amazing Grace.
Hotwater:
Did you actually read the article or just make a blind assumption?
I wouldn't normally read the sun as it's an awful rag but I read this one.
Did is you bother reading this part "family, searching his home and working with MI5 and MI6, police sources added that he has shown no signs of radicalisation.
The teenager is believed to suffer from mental health problems and that the incident was a “spontaneous attack”."
retiredinchina:
yes, the liberal media covering up an attack by a Muslim by calling it an isolated criminal incident, or a mental problem, same excuse I hear in China, no one is evil, they are just misunderstood, instead of what it is, sure has been a large increase lately. I'm sure we can blame it on global warming. My favorite from the black savior for Fort Hood was it was 'local isolated criminal incident', can you feel the love?
Shining_brow:
WTF is the 'cover up' you're reading in that artcile??
RiC - you are clearly racist!
You read 'black' and 'Somali' and just jumped to the automatical conclusion that a) he was Muslim (absolutely NO evidence of this has been provided!) and b) a radicalised Jihadi (and, again, ZERO evidence of this!)
And you IGNORE basic facts that are presented! Such as - he left Somalia to live in Norway when HE WAS 5 YEARS OLD!!!! So, he's actually,f or all intents and purposes, NORWEGIAN! (other than being picked on in school - which I can understand in the UK ("you can't be from Norway - you're black!!!") Nope - no chance that's going to cause some mental instability at all.... nope! Must be a Muslim terrorist attack!*
Please - make it easy on all of use for the future - what is your criteria for automatically assuming a Muslim Jihad terror attack? I'm presuming... "anyone from the African continent or Middle East area who is involved in any form of violence"... Correct?
(*Note - I don't discount the possibility he was 'inspired' by such attacks - people who have a lot of anger inside of them may see what ISIS and their ilk do, and say "hey, I can do that too...!!!")
retiredinchina:
http://www.militantislammonitor.org/article.php/id/2474?id=2474
There are no christians or christian churches left in Somalia, and he was a Muslim, despite what the media wants you to believe, I have been in Somalia three times, that boat was already sailed. Black Hawk Down, we stood by in 90's and let the Christians get slaughtered, same thing we are doing now in Turkey. Clinton let 70000 Somalia refugees into America, many live in the Columbus OH area, history just repeating itself.
Hotwater:
@ Retiredinchina. You've jumped on this attack immediately going on about Muslims & fundamentalists.
So what, from your point of view, was Anders Brevik? A deranged lone-wolf, mentally disturbed on Christian fundamentalist?
It still never ceases to amaze me who things are so "black and white" to right-wingers. When a white guy goes doolally with a gun or a knife he's just deranged. When a black or Arabic guy does the same there are immediate accusations of Islamic terrorism before the blood has even dried!
Look in the mirror at your stereotypes.....

If you can't see that Christians are being killed in a genocide all over the world by Muslims while the elites cover all this up and make us feel that everything is an isolated incident, nothing I can say will change your mind. Indonesia in the 80's, horn of africa in the 90's, europe in this century. no pattern, just happen stance, right, and I don't like Christians or Muslims. I really don't give a shit, but I don't live in closet like a mushroom and feed off media bullshit.
yes, Atlanta Journal and Constitution ( sorry i mean atlanta urinal and constipation), I need to run a classified ad to sell my slave, how much for this Sunday edition?
nzteacher80:
Breitbart quoting ISIS... ISIS are right. Slavery is fully okay for Christians, Jews and Muslims. The Old Testament gives exhaustive descriptions on how to keep slaves and the rules regarding their treatment. It's that old time religion that modern day Christianity chooses to ignore. ISIS are being true to the Old Testament. Moses would be pleased.
Most of your posts have more DOWNVOTED than upvoted. Is this what makes you brave to point at others?
Shining_brow:
"brave"? No... it doesn't take courage to point out the obvious!
And, ftr, while I do get downvotes (and quite a lot were coming from a certain sector for a while there - as soon as they saw my name), I also get UP votes... something the vast majority of your posts fail to get! I also get downvotes because people actually read my post, and disagree with the content - they have an opposing viewpoint (I'm ok with that!)... that is, they're not doing it (usually) because I've wasted time and space on a post which has ZERO useful content or meaning!!!
You are new to this forum. A forum is a community of people (some of whom have met, and are friends). You have entered this community of friends, and started to demand how you think it should be run
This is not 'YOUR' forum... (it's not mine, either!) It's 'ours'... and it's obvious that your meaningless posts are not popular here.
You are welcome to post - as long as you post something that it actually worth reading (actual help, or at least humour). Try connecting to the other forum members.... rather than ignoring them completely in your desire to write crap!
GreatTao:
@Shining_brow
Cause I thought you were a coward only talks shot at certain people. God will clean you from the brave list if you're not.
Shining_brow:
Firstly, your 'god' does not exist.
Secondly - "Try connecting to the other forum members.... rather than ignoring them completely in your desire to write crap!"
GreatTao:
@Shining_brow
I didn't say it's my God. You'll get punished or damned for stopping others talking.
cub:
come on tao, im a christian and my God dont punish people like your god seems to do just because people talk. ''Free will'' is what God gave u, me, all humans as a choice to choose whom 2 masters we serve ok? Its a persons wrong choices in life [ wrong master they serve ] that dams and punishes people in this life.
GreatTao:
@cub
You should know I am for free talking. They want to stop me from talking. Make sure you know the thing then comment.
cub:
OK Tao, whom is ''they'' u refer to, the others on this site? Be more specific not so vague. my God never forces anyone to do anything thats why he gave all mankind a free will to choose that includes talking And it was u whom mentioned God Just remember u are a guest on this site don't be so defensive and u will get great answers, choose your words carefully. The quality of answers u get depends on how u reply or respond and ask questions here Some members here are very protective

unfair to women, say it ain't so.
Shining_brow:
I presume you missed, or ignored, this bit:
"
The first sharia court appeared in London in 1982 under the government of Margaret Thatcher, who rolled back state intervention in many areas, including mediation in family conflicts, which was delegated to faith groups.
But religious courts have existed for hundreds of years in Britain, whether in the Catholic Church or in the Jewish community -- the Beth Din -- notes Amin Al-Astewani, lecturer in law at Lancaster University."
As for being unfair to women - it wouldn't surprise me... it's friggen Sharia law, which isn't really known for being excessively fair! And, this might shock you, but not all Muslims (in fact, millions of them) don't want to live under Sharia law!!! If they did, they wouldn't be fleeing groups like ISIS or Boko Harem!
Englteachted:
Shining but you have to admit, many fleeing just don't want ISIS's version but they want some form and they want to bring it about in their new home
Shining_brow:
Yes, I will admit that.
Will you admit that many also do NOT want Sharia law? Especially the younger generation who are getting brought up using technology to see how the rest of the world behaves, and want to be more like them...
I shall start a thread... :)

This is for Ambi and Icnif...as I can't reply above. You are both clearly clueless about Tommy Robinson and British legal system
Do you actually know why he has been jailed? Have a read of this link below…which is a right-wing nationalist website…even they say he deserves what he got.
For those who don’t open the link…. Tommy Robinson was given a suspended jail sentence for contempt of court in 2016. This was for hassling Muslim defendants in a child abuse case and broadcasting their details when there were reporting restrictions. He then did the same thing this week. At which point he was arrested…and then his suspended sentence was activated. He put these trials at risk…which mean the peado defendants might get away with their crimes.

Britons Rage Over Robinson Arrest As Mass Protests Break Out Worldwide
And, why media blackout was imposed if everything is so kosher ...?
Hotwater:
“Some” racist Britons rage!
the media “blackout” is because this involves an ongoing court case.
This is is the key point you, Ambi and LOTS of other people DON’T UNDERSTAND.
If the details of the court case are broadcast while its ongoing then the defendants lawyers might be able to get the case dismissed. That means the (alleged) paedophiles get off s it free! Do you understand this point?
Did you read my link? Do you have any views of your own to add or just going to c&p reactive shit?
icnif77:
I didn't follow the whole story except titles and few comments at Zero. I read your link and I realised Zero's links are let say 'right wingers blob'. Mossad was also mentioned 'cause Robinson is his adopted name.
Miss Lake is right and arrest of Robbie was justified ... to protect the rape's trial. Twice!
Media blackout isn't that shady anymore.
I've been busy lately ... and just skimming up the titles ..
ambivalentmace:
Tommy Robinson was the whistleblower that brought this out over 5 years ago and everybody said there is no ring of men raping young girls and covered up by authorities to avoid islamophobia hate speech attacks. They said it was a fairy tale, they lied, he is in jail because a judge is afraid he will have his cut off for offending the muslim populations in England by embarrassing them and making them look bad in the media and the elites want that guaranteed Muslim vote every election and screw the hard working white folks. England has no freedom of speech, period, end of story. I just love the backlash and the unintended consequences, the left always think they can run over people with no recourse, it gives hope that England want become China in the elite class and Pakistan in the lower class, Tommy has black family members and loves people who become British and accept British culture, this is not racists, assimilation is what citizens expect, and now because we expect this, we are called racists.
Hotwater:
Icnif, thanks for reading the link to understand the real story of his jailing.
Ambi - you really are blinkered. Robinson whistleblowers the gang rape stories 5 years ago? He was in & out of jail was various offenses between 2012-2014 including in the US. He was out under Licence till 2015 so had to be careful who he spoke to
His latest prison sentence is NOT a freedom of speech issue. Freedom of speech comes with responsibilities. In the UK judges can put reporting restrictions on trials that are ongoing. One reason to protect the kids. Robinson broke these AGAIN! Seems in your fairytale land you ignore facts.
ambivalentmace:
Facts are nothing anymore, the outrage and perception of this is a public relations nightmare, truth has nothing to do with the unintended stit storm this has created but the left loves to appear high and mighty over the underclass deplorables. If the left has not learned one thing in the last 2 years, Brexit, Trump, you don't walk around pointing your finger and telling people you know what is best for them. It simply does not work. Most articles say that 1300 underage girls were raped over a decade by predominately Pakistan men of origin, some now British citizens, Pakistan is a country were 3 men have to be a witness for a rape to be called a rape, if I know this, so does every British asshole that tried to cover this up. May they all rot in hell.
The tangled web of British society deceit. What a show, got to love it, though I prefer popcorn as opposed to fish and chips.
ambivalentmace:
The new civil society is so tolerant, liberals should be so proud. Since they are religiously persecuted, maybe they can be cell mates with Tommy.

I wonder where this behavior came from, a decade ago it was unheard of, oh well, its the new norm, nothing we can or will actually do about it.
