Q: non-iphone users, is it a pain to download apps?

This is an honest question as I'm not so familiar with phones that are not iphone. I once had an android phone in America but it was super buggy and did not function well in China. As I'm aware, Android phones require Google playstore to download apps, but that is blocked in China, so Android users either require a VPN on the phone or a third-party app store to download apps. I wouldn't trust apps from a third-party app store in China. I'm happy with my iphone because the app store works just the same as it did in America and I'm not so worried about downloading apps from there. So tell me non-iphone users, do you just put up with the hassle of downloading apps? I'm aware there are other phone operating systems besides ios and android but I don't know what kinds of phones use them.

I get all my aps through Amazon, absolutely no problem. I don't like Apple due to the way they try and lock you into their system. At least with Android we have an open market.

You can get 1Mobile app , which is full of GPlay stuff, reliable and 98% without viruses. the most famous games and apps gone without viruses. I am using paid ESET Mobile security, so I believe in this.

Other app is AmazonStore, you can get also many free apps, and everyday have one paid app or game in promotion for free. So I am fine with this way of getting apps.

A:Good question!  I'd say, if you study at Uni in China beside working full-time as an E.T. with Residence permit, you don't interfere with your full-time employment. It's your free time and you can do anything you want, with respect to the Chinese laws and customs. Have a look at terms of Z visa/Residence permit and ... ".. you cannot work (and earn monies!) with another employer ..."That's all it is! Your RP sponsor title is written on the RP stamp in your passport, I think. It's in Mandarin, so I've heard about that from someone ...At I.D.-ing by cops, they know where you work and than more details about you are just a phone call away ... and it happened in person ... LOL ... during the day-time stroll through Wulumuqi, Xinjiang, 2012/13 semester. Now under RP, you're free to surf Internet, jog, ... and study, too. I suggest, you look and ask at the Uni, you plan to study in the future. Have a detailed look at requirements for studying and attending chosen Uni.Good luck! -- icnif77
