Obviously people live in these hutongs so I'm only referring to areas like Nanluoxiang (purely a touristic site) and so on. It's a pretty commercial and horrendous area but it's ruined further by the fact you have these Audis and BMWs honking their way through the crowds every two seconds. I mean if you're gonna prostitute your heritage and turn it into a giant gift shop at least make it easier for the tourists and sellers by paving over the road?

But how would the party members get home after heavy drinking at dinner if they cannot get behind the wheel of their ill gained German cars

If you haven't been to the place that was aforementioned you wouldn't know what the person was talking or writing about. I think you should have experience on what he's saying before you make comments like this. I have to go to the place the writer mentioned twice a week!
