I grew up in Hong Kong (til17), went to UCBerkeley for college.
I major in Economics and Political Science, GPA ~3.5
Had been doing a lot of research and class work on Chinese politics/Chinese Economy, taught a undergraduate-level class on Chinese Energy Policy (yes, UCB is so poor that it lets undergrad teach undergrad)
Fluent in English (GRE~750+800) and Cantonese (native), mediocre spoken Mandarin
made up my mind to work for a while in Beijing/Shanghai, to gain work exp, learn Mandarin and build network.
One bonus/wild card I have is my dual citizenship, I can pass as a foreigner because I speak pretty native English and I hold UK Citizenship.
Questions:
How much should I expect to get per year?
Anyone know some good consulting firms that are looking for recent grads?

if you look chinese it might be a negative in some companies
expect to only get a base salary of around 5000 - 10000 per month
don't daydream about getting an expat package since you are only a recent graduate regardless of what kind of passport you have or how good your English is. Believe it or not your background is not special enough.
However, you might get a better chance in higher base salary if you look in Guangzhou or anywhere in Guangdong province.
