Q: Relationship meltdowns in public?

I've seen it a couple of times now that people (especially girls) will have relationship meltdowns in public and end up huddling on the side of the street acting inconsolable.  I know different definitions of privacy exist, but why not just do that somewhere else? Are they expecting someone to come and take their side or comfort them?

I too saw couple times, girls alone crying over the phone on the streets and sometimes if front of a man (or boyfriend, could not be sure). Just like you I could not understand why they liked to do that. It is like demonstrating to the public, "Here goes another break up. Be in queue as she is free now."

Not so good experience I had one was when I arrive in China and had just bought a new phone. After a week of new phone, got a call from a girl. It came out that her boyfriend (ex) used it before so she called on it assuming that boyfriend is using it. We became friend (though on phone). Then, she almost every day cried over the phone telling me that she missed her boyfriend. Shit, she even made me to send the sms to her (ex)boyfriend requesting to call her back. Finally, in one week I was able to console her saying to go for a better man. Voila, she found a richer and better guy than previous. In two months I have an invitation on my table for wedding ceremony.

Am I off the track of the Question? Little bit, I guess. Just sharing if someone has similar experiences. The point is, as you could not understand them, neither do I.

anyway, if I see them crying, I let them Cry. I wish they could cry even more...Coffee time

Hey! Thats great!

Can I call you for consoling? Maybe luck will repeat and I will get a pretty and wealthy girlfriend? If so, you will have a table at my wedding party too!

C'monnnn, and you've 'never' seen this back home? Especially on a Saturday night, was that when you saw it? Probably a party somewhere; I think it's a given rule that every party ends with a girl crying, usually outside on the street, next to some girl who's sticking her fingers down her best friend's throat.

  Ahhhh, to be young again.

I see this a lot too. Often times, and angry, almost hysterical girl howling at the top of her lungs, crying her eyes out as she holds tight to a very sorry looking boy, desperately looking around for either a way to escape or to hide himself in shame.  She will cry, yell and alternate between hugging him and beating him.

While this indeed DOES happen in the west as well, it seems to happen a lot more over here, though I must admit, I have not seen it as much in bigger cities as I have in Guilin, where it was almost a weekly ocurence.

I once saw a guy slapping his face so badly that he turned purple, yelling and weeping like a baby that I seriously wanted to stop and take a video! But my boyfriend stopped me by saying it was a PRIVATE issue.
