Q: So is the local male participation in the prostitution industry class related?

I could tell stories...but I digress.

Is it just business dudes here that have a wife, a mistress...and feel the need to screw prostitutes on the side??

Or is this a sign of sucess and any local man would do the same provided he had the same financial recources?

Sort of. I think that there are men in this world who only want one woman in their life, yet there are other men that want many women. Whether they have a lot or a little money, that want doesn't change, only their opportunities. This isn't true just in China, but all over the world. You could say the same about women, too.

Prostitution is class related.  But there are different classes of prostitute... from the high end mistress... to the massage girl... to the KTV lass... to the "call I'll be at your hotel in 20 mins"... to the red light district couch sitter... to the you have to know which apartment door is hers lady... to the single room down the alleyway that the line workers go to whore.

Different places with different prices to fill the demands of every market.

DaBen:

I have never once paid for it, but if I wake by one drunk and the girls on the couch look bored I have been known to go sit on the couch and have a conversation with them. And there was a "talent show" that blew my mind enough I brought a different group to see it a second time (actually the gf is still upset at the fact that she didn't get to see it).

Where actually are you? Can I come and visit? Sounds more interesting there than here. Talent quest? Is it anything like 'China You've Got Talent' or something a little more sinister...more fun?

Now I'm in Luxu, but most of my "stories" either come from my time in Chongqing or then I was traveling to film a tv drama series.

A:No, it's not allowed to work under RP at 2nd job! I'd say, Z visa/RP sponsor can have an objections to your part-time job. I did the same at my English teaching in China and elsewhere, butT ... I casually mentioned at my prime job, some kindergarten or another school asked me to work with them part-time. Then, my Q: "Is that permitted?" ...  Answer from RP sponsor was always "Yes, but you can't be late or miss the classes at our school ..." with my reply: "No, our work schedule has a priority, and I'll arrange classes at kindergarten only in my free time." When I cleared that, I was undertaking any extra teaching hours at other schools and private students in my free time.Sometimes, teachers at my prime job asked me if I'm willing to have some extra classes elsewhere.I accepted after the talk with School's principal. I suggest, you test the felling at your Z/RP sponsor and once you see they don't object, you can work at 2nd job. Keeping your 2nd job as a secret from your employer won't work, 'cause you're laowai and Chinese know exactly what you do in your free time. However, despite your employer's agreement for extra work, you are still in violation of Chinese Labour law, and even if your sponsor agrees to your extra work, you can still get in trouble, because it's clearly written (somewhere ... ) that under Z/WP, one can work only at the Z-sponsor and nowhere else. Penalties ... I'd say, there won't be any warnings and you'll be required to exit China in short Exit time.It never happened to me, so I can't really advice how is when manure hits the fan ...  -- icnif77
