Q: The study of psychology is not encouraged by CCP. Why?
Someone told me that. For the moment let's just say it is true.
What do you think the reasons are?
Maybe it's too hard to create a rote learnable multi-choice test for it. It'll still be in the pipeline while we wait for the workers at the education bureau to wake up from their nap and ignore the phone when it's ringing.

That kind of study involves a lot of thinking in such ways that only democracies would be able to survive, Self determination. The will and strength needed from yourself rather than relying on a collective. These are things that are not conducive to communism and are dreaded by dictators.

Branches of psychology would be pushing towards group-think and how sublimating oneself to the betterment of society is the way to go. Going against the grain results in ostracism, and that is not beneficial for the individual.
I'm not saying I agree with that. I'm just saying that there are ways it could be taught, and lots of different theories to choose from.

You confused pushing with studying. Studying and researching mass consciousness is not pushing or preaching any belief or ideology.

If they knew psychology they'd then be able to diagnose their countrymen and leaders.

Agree. Reminds me of that girl from University of Maryland? She majors in psychology.
Same reason they do not encourage the study of media, propaganda and social change.

Like criminals do not encourage the study of criminology by others, especially law enforcement officers. They patented it, they think.
Can you imagine psychology here? The way we do?
Look at the definitions of sociopath, and you'll see it all around you.
Look at concepts of maturation and development... and you'll see immaturity all around you.
Look at ideas of self-sabotage... and you'd see it all around you...

In this case, psychology serves as a mirror. Some people can't look into the mirror.... Some program the mirror to say 'of all the women in the world, you are the ______ of them all' when they look into it. Yeah right, smart solution, errrh?
Wait till you hear this one, we have our own concept / definition of '______' (morality / civilized behaviors/ justice /beauty....). Don't you dare interfere with our internal affairs (but we can interfere and mess yours up anyway anytime we want). Yeah right, absolutely the level of genius....errrh?
Because psychology is an evil Western invention! You think too much, be happy!
