You are against Chinese Law, if you are working and receiving pay without Working permit, butt....so they are many other teachers in China.
Nobody can tell you what will happened to you, if somebody decide to enforce Law.
If you are caught, like anyone else if caught, if you are lucky you may spend a short time in jail, be deported, and banned to re-enter China for at least 10 years. If not so lucky, your stay in jail could be longer, and eventually deported. Maybe also a monetary fine.
China is on a drive to stamp out persons working illegally, not the right time to take such a risk in my eyes. But it is you who must decide. It is not that difficult or expensive to change your X visa top a Z working visa, just process the paperwork, and continjue legally.
