11 years 21 weeks ago in Transport & Travel - China
I've already been to Japan you would like it!
I would say 1. Ireland 2. Argentina 3. Brazil 4. Italy 5. France
Traveler:
Come to Australia, buddy. Me and Phil will take you out deep sea fishing and drink beer
MissA:
I'm inviting myself along and I'll bring suspiciously heavy boots in case the cement doesn't work.
This thread hurts the feelings of my country if it is not mentioned by everyone.
MissA:
If you're from Norway, then your country is the absolute number one on my BF's list.
Actually, he's dead keen on all of Scandinavia, but I look at weather charts and the cost of a pint and say NO!
Scandinavian:
MissA, all of Scandinavia has a small issue with rain. Go in August if you want to avoid rain, or in December/January if you like snow.
Norway has some extremely beautiful nature and it is possible to go into the wilderness and actually be alone. Look up "Preikestolen" That spot, and the area around it would in my book be enough to justify flying around the planet, but Oslo is also an incredibly nice city, albeit, with Chinese eyes, it is more like a village.
MondoRosa:
I want to go to Norway just to see A-ha live! I played the Take on me music video for my students today. The whole class clapped at the end. Cheers A-ha!
5? 5? That's all I get? Are you kidding me?
Lemme try.
1. Brazil. BRAAAZIL! My Brazilian students are awesome. Actually, as students they're crap and do my head in, but as people they're awesome, and a country full of Brazilians must be beyond awesome. *
2. Japan. Just to hurt the feelings of the Chinese people.
3. Malta. **
4. Burma. It was closed/ethically irresponsible to go there when I did an amazing four month trip around SE Asia three years ago, and I really wanted to go there.
5. The entire Asian subcontinent. Not a country, sure, but I want to see all of it (maybe not the more gun-friendly parts of Pakistan), and it's impossible to say which first.
*Actually, I want to see all of South America.
**Actually, I want to see all of Europe.
I was thinking about this the other day
Firstly I would love to take my wife and kids to Europe
and Canada is right up there to
the USA is not high on my list however there are some places I would like to see
Russia is only a couple of hours from Mudanjaing
so maybe we will go there in the near future

ambivalentmace:
join the french foreign legion and you can see most of africa, the rest were easy, a french passport will get you into north korea, cuba, the hard ones for an american, in the late 80s and early 90s aeroflot had real cheap fares out of africa. i did the last group that split from russia 4 years ago to complete the plan. its not as great as it sounds, some were not worth the trouble. if your adventurous you can also do the 'semester at sea' program around the world on a college owned cruise ship. the program is in virginia now, when i did it in 82 , was pittsburg. travel around the globe and see 25 countries , in 82 , 8000 dollars , probably 25 thousand now. i have no desire for cars and big houses, travel was my passion and still is, happy travels.
xxxcdbxxx:
well I stand corrected. Impressive.
Been to Micronesia? Guam? Any little crazy places like that?
ambivalentmace:
best little place was easter island, fly from peru when i went was cheaper, but part of chili so the cost may have changed.

99Silva:
"yeah baby yeah"!! So do they have any of those places in Australia Ted? Phillipines? Bleh!!
In this order:
Brazil
Peru
Antarctic (not a country)
Egypt
Turkey
The States, i've got my trip planned, right up here in my bwrrrain. Start in New York, fly to Dallas to start a camper tour through the Rockies to Nevada, Grand Canyon, Vegas, LA, California coast up to San Francisco, then fly to New Orleans. Jobs a good'n.
Safari in Kenya. Working on the cash for it right now. So fari, so goodi.
Travel by train from here to my home in Blighty. Hope to solve at least one murder on the way.
Those are my top three trips. Not so much an answer to your question but my answer all the same.
1. Greece
2. Ireland
3. Australia
4. America
5. Germany (perhaps all of Europe is possible.)
Yet, I have a big heart so I would say I would to travel all over the world.
I've been to over 80 nations so I'm running out of places on my 'wish list' but lets see:
1. Singapore.
2. Hawaii
3. Moscow
4. Tibet
5. St Helena
MissA:
Singapore is boring. Clean and well organized and historically relevant, sure, but, still... give me Bangkok or, even better, Saigon or Hanoi, any day! On the other hand, how fond is your wife of shopping?
Hugh.G.Rection:
Given the cash too fond! That list was my personal list, no doubt my wife's would be considerably different as she hasn't traveled anywhere near as much as I have.
I'm a 50 year old married man, as much as I would love to go to Thailand I don't think ANYONE would believe I was going to be a 'normal' tourist, and I would have to seriously restrain myself the first time someone gave me that 'knowing look'. Hanoi / Vietnam is on the list in the near future as we live in Nanning so it's an easy trip for us, although I'd really like to do southern Vietnam as well to take in the war sites.
1. Myanmar (Burma)
2. Germany
3. Spain
4. India
5. Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland
Sudan
Syria
Somalia
Afghanistan
Yemen
Iraq
It's been nice knowing ya
MasqueX:
I've been to half the countries you have listed- all during my tour of duty. Go there in peace, leave in pieces. Frankly speaking, Iraq has some nice cultural sites, but its hard to get around in those areas because violent-islamists usually occupy them.
Florida, Spain, Portugal, Turkey and Cyprus are the 5 countries where I want to travel. If you ever visited a foreign country, you will definitely know just how important it is to bring something home for your family and friends. Aside from the pictures that you are going to show on your social media accounts, having travel gifts for people back home is a good way of bringing back memories of the places you visited. 1. Thailand - Why? Hot thai Chicks
2. Vietnam - Why? Hot Vietnamese chicks... hopefully.
3. Japan - Why? Hot Japanese chicks.
4. Sweden - Why? Hot blond chicks.
5. Antarctica - Why? Because I'm into penguins.
Old question, but fun anyway. (By the way, boys, Hawaii, Florida and Disneyland are not countries...)
My bucket list of countries:
1. Cuba
2. Argentina
3. New Zealand
4. Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, Korea (4-way tie)
5. Mozambique
1. Egypt
2. Iran [Persian Empire]
3. Maldives [If get married, hope to honeymoon there.]
4. Greece
5. India [Been here, but only for work, no travel]
