Q: Tour group to go to North Korea?

Anyone know how I can go about going to North Korea in terms of visa, tour groups, etc...which one is most reliable. what problems I may have. Do they automatically refuse people based on nationality?

You really need to check with  both the North Korean Embassy and the Embassy of your country. They will have more information on who can apply and how.  For example, if you were a US citizen, until 2008 you were barred by US law  from traveling to N. Korea, though I understand this may no longer be the case. So, you may want to be clear if your country will allow you to do so.

check out Koryo Tours which run by the DPRK and they give you visas to enter.

All visitors must be in a tour group and cannot enter as a single entry. Your mobile phone will be held at the airport until your departure date.

If you are Chinese you can enter the Northern border town freely but no where else in the country.

Just curious, are you crazy? Why North Korea?

I would like to go to NK one day. Just a country that has been lost in time.

GuilinRaf:

I seriously wanted to go as well, however one of my Chinese friends has to make the trip there a few times a year. He told me some rather interesting things about NK (even though he has a "minder" or an "escort" with him at all times).  I would still like to go, but I will give it more thought first. Much more thought.

A:Good question!  I'd say, if you study at Uni in China beside working full-time as an E.T. with Residence permit, you don't interfere with your full-time employment. It's your free time and you can do anything you want, with respect to the Chinese laws and customs. Have a look at terms of Z visa/Residence permit and ... ".. you cannot work (and earn monies!) with another employer ..."That's all it is! Your RP sponsor title is written on the RP stamp in your passport, I think. It's in Mandarin, so I've heard about that from someone ...At I.D.-ing by cops, they know where you work and than more details about you are just a phone call away ... and it happened in person ... LOL ... during the day-time stroll through Wulumuqi, Xinjiang, 2012/13 semester. Now under RP, you're free to surf Internet, jog, ... and study, too. I suggest, you look and ask at the Uni, you plan to study in the future. Have a detailed look at requirements for studying and attending chosen Uni.Good luck! -- icnif77
