Q: Is the weather in Beijing normal for this time of year?
It just seems like it's been raining a lot more and heavier this summer than in previous years, with the city struggling to contain floods. And despite being hot and all, it didn't seem TOO hot this year. Any metereological experts here have any ideas about this year's trends?

I think there've been more thunderstorms and heavier rain fall this year, but I think it's not too out of the ordinary overall. It usually rains a lot in August in Beijing. I guess this year, the rain came so fast and intensely that the drainage system couldn't cope.
