I remember when I used to teach some of the teachers at my school were members of the party. Even now at my current work, a few also are.
The thing is, I really have no idea what this entails. I believe they have to go to meetings every so often. Is that all it is? What else is there that they have to do?
PS: not trying to start a flame war about the government or whatever, so haters and trolls please go play elsewhere. In traffic, for instance.
Basically, only party members can apply for civil servant positions. Also, if you have a big company, you must have a certain number of party members employed to ensure 'worker harmony', so I suppose it is a form of job security as well.
