I've had my days, but generally I don't get that homesick...until last night. Usually, at the end of a good vacation, I get the feeling like I'm ready to go home. But I wasn't going home, I was going back to China. It was the worst case of homesickness I have ever had. Now that I'm back in China, it feels like I never left, so it's not a big deal. When was your worst case of homesickness, and what caused it?
It was last summer when I was still living in China. I had a severe case of "I hate China". I didn't go outside of the apartment unless it was necessary and then I would put on my sunglasses and baggy pants to attract less attention.
If someone pissed me off I would go crazy on them, I had no patience for people cutting me in line, kids yelling "hallo" on the street, finger pointing and "laowai-laowai". That was a dark period in my life, it lasted for few months but eventually I got over it.

It's a really bad idea to post honest, emotional things on this site. Certain people like to troll the archives for months-old posts as flame fodder.
Ok! I too have experienced this recently. I went on a trip and got back. The place I was at it's weather was a tropical weather so it reminded me of back home. It wasn't until recently when I went out to the local mall and visited the gameplace that I felt homesick. I take one ticket from one of the ticket games and this girl employee at the gameplace comes running after me. She tells me in chinese something about a fapiao and I knew what she meant. So then she gets a guy employee and they start speaking to me so I say. WHAT to their face! I said THIS! The guy says Duai(Right) I give it to him and he takes it and throws the one ticket in the trashcan. That really made me feel homesick because the gameplace back home won't care if you found a ticket or a coin there.
