Q: Where is the best/cheapest beijing duck?
Where is the cheapest and best beijing duck in Beijing? I don't want to go to Quan Ju De. I've heard it's all hype, and nothing really special. Any suggestions?
In a small alley near the Jinguang centre (next to the KFC) in Chaoyang a Beijing duck place around 100rmb.
Check out 大鸭梨 (Da Ya Li). They're all over Beijing. Pretty good duck for reasonable prices. Their 炒菜 is also quite good.
Dadong is a famous and up-market duck restaurant in Beijing. There's a branch near Tuanjiehu but there's always a massive line, so I guess that means it's good. I'm personally not a Peking Duck fan but the pancakes were one of the best I've had - very fresh. You can also eat the duck in sesame puffs which was delicious. They hand out free drinks while you wait and cut the duck at the front of the restaurant for all to see.
