Q: Who is actually following the Olympics ?

My chinese colleagues keep asking me if i saw the latest tables or events about the olympics, but really i barely look at any of it all, most of my friends are also that way. I mean the only thing we actually watch is how screwed up it all seems to be this year ( you've gotta love drama).

Is it only me or are most people from other nationalities also not caring much about the olympics ? And am I the only one thinking they seem to be a major deal around here ?

I'm only following the medal count to rub it in my Chinese friends' faces. They put so much stock in it and published stupid articles about how they were going to win more medals than anyone else. They deserve to finish 3rd.

Scandinavian:

try taking the medals table, correlate it with population of the nation.... China sucks, many tiny European countries far outperform. The myth that China is good at anything....

I'm taking more notice of the dramas than the sports.

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. For instance today the TV was off, and then the dog stepped on the remote and all of a sudden I was following olympics.

I've been watching it on both channels for about 16 hrs a day since I lobbed back in the country Tuesday week ago.  I consider this perfectly normal and it's up to others what they want to do to spend their time.  Ergo, I consider people who don't watch the olympics at every waking moment to be abnormal.
