Q: Who am I? (A sticker for the winner!)

On air....

"Lets cross to our correspondent in and amongst the victims' families...."

"What's the mood like there, Wang?"

"Oh, it's horrendous."

"How so?  They're too distraught to utter even a snort to you?  Or perhaps display some serious aggro and emotion in front of our cameras?"

"No, worse.  They've separated them from our prying eyes.  We can't even film them, much less ask them inane and insulting questions!"

"OMG!  That's reprehensible!  How can you get shots of shock, sadness, anger...how can you interview relatives demanding compensation?"

"I know, it's terrible.  All I can do is repeat, ad nauseum, that life is grim and someone has to pay."

"Ok.  Thanks for nothing, Wang.  Now, wait a moment.....I'm getting something here....OH NO!  Terrible news is just coming to hand....wait....ok....I see. Thank you.   Right, I can now report to you that this saga has reached a whole new low..... It seems they've located wreckage of the plane that we were so hoping would be missing for a very long time and now we'll have to think of something else to report in order to distract you all."

Off air........"perhaps we can argue over the body count?  And don't forget we can always remind people over and over how China is powerful and influential..."

Yes, that's right.  I'm fucking CCTV NEWS.

Addit;   I'm angry at how they're reporting this tragedy.  I'm saddened by the loss of life and sympathetic to families and loved ones.

I don't watch TV - let alone awful Chinese TV - so i didn't see the coverage. Didn't they at least throw in some conspiracy theories to spice things up?

royceH:

For spice they threw in condescending remarks at how callous Indonesian TV was for showing footage of bodies in the water.

Whist doing this they showed the same footage.

The Fox news presenter was worse. She blamed it on the metric system. Then said American pilots were better than foreign ones.

Stiggs:

The metric system? really? I know that Fox news is a joke but still... how can the metric system bring down a plane?
