12 years 10 weeks ago in Health & Safety - China
I can only answer based on two persons who share my life. My GF and her daughter. They do brush their teeth as soon as they get out of bed, and in fact, do brush their teeth each time they eat something.
And brushing their teeth is a different adventure than ours. We do it in front of the wash basin in bathroom, and get it over as quick as possible. Theyt both do not, they start in the bathroom, and walk all over the apartment, sometimes for 20 to 30 minutes, sometimes brushing their teeth, sometimes with toothbrush in their mouths while doing something else.
And when it is time to rinse their mouth off, they return to bathroom and use a glass there full of water. But they never heard of Listerine do........

This surely can't be a Chinese thing. I do the same thing and have all my life....maybe for only 10 minutes though.

You'r GF and her daughter are smart... I do the same. I get out of bed, pee, and then grab the toothbrush and start out. I turn on the news and start the coffee and feed the animals and put together my stuff.... all while brushing my teeth. :) The other times are basic routine brushings, but that morning brushing is like... the breath of life.

I cant walk and brush at the same time. I trip over my tongue...
I can't understand how they don't gag doing this. My wife does the same thing.
Doesn't everyone brush their teeth when they wake up? I do.
Sometimes you do wonder if they brush at all breath and sometimes you see men and woman in there 30's or 40's with that gold gunk along the teeth that never seems to go away
for me I wake up brush my teeth immediately and gargle listerine likes its nobody's business.
Technically its recommend that everybody on Earth brush their teeth before and after every meal.
Cause we want to keep our pearly whites for as long as possible and do not want our mouths to smell like a fermented toilet that has never been flushed.
I also brush my teeth first thing every morning. I thought most people did and after reading this it appears that the OP is in the minority reguardless of where people come from.
Doesn't everyone? Well... most. Well... a lot. Wake up, jump out of bed, pee and brush. Morning breath is... ick. Ewww.
Well, I guess you should be happy that they at least brush their teeth, If they didn't then you would have a problem.
I thought it was the norm to brush your teeth after waking up/before breakfast?
brushing your teeth after eating food can have the opposite effect i heard.
brushing whilst there is sweet/sugary or acidic food residue on your teeth will increase the damage as you are brushing it further across the surface. you should let your saliva naturally neutralize it first (maybe leave 30 mins) before brushing again.
