Q: Why do so many locals pretend to be expats on this site?
Do they really think that if they pretend they are expats, and go on and on how great China is, we will all decide to partake in the Kool-Aid and disavow all things western?
Well I like that method better then if they took the Kool-Aid Man approach and burst through the wall of my apartment screaming "Ohhhh Yeahhhh"

They try to "guide" the discussion to where it's what they see as being pro-China. But yeah, obvious local is obvious.

I have absolutley no problem with local people that post on this site.
What annoys me is when they pretend to be westerners (almost always American by the way).
They probably pretend to be expats because this is a site for expats. But yeah, they're not very good at it. *cough* extremely obvious *cough*
Come on guys... I didn't think I was being extremely obvious.... I thought I did a good job hiding it....
Now I'm ashamed of my failure and I'll have to go cry myself to sleep
It's sadly not just this site. They are all over western news sites pretending to be westerners. It's really damned pathetic.
