Q: Why does China need so many foreign English teachers?

English is simple

Chinese English teachers are not all bad

If Chinese wanna go abroad just to learn their English here without know anything better about the culture and people, etc, they are just some failed ppl. No one cares if they speak good English or bad English at all.

Foreign English tearchers nowadays are too much for Chinese. 2/3 aint qualifited for language level, own culture background knowledge, and not focus on teaching, etc....not to mentions 1/3 are sneaking in China.

Have to say Chinese parents ain't well-educated, so this is the main reasone they need 3/3 foreign teachers

Once the chinese can learn that English must be taught different then Chinese is then that would be a start. China has the lowest English level of all Asian countries except North Korea, so it is pretty obvious that they need help.

When your highest English level student CET 8 level cannot speak the language there is a problem.

Besides who would break the cherries of all the young ladies here if it wasn't for the native English teachers. You think every body wants to save ot for their wedding?

There are more than 100,000 openings for foreign native English speaking teachers in China. There are less than 30,000 teachers to fill these positions. Apparently most people in China don't think as you do. They want to learn English. Not just grammar and what a Chinese English teacher can teach them. They want to learn to speak as well. Yes, I agree. Your English is atrocious. You could use a foreign teacher to give you some lessons as well.

You must have done a real difficult, long and stressful background check on ESL teachers to post a survey like this... How long did this study take you? Or are you just assuming about this, like I'm assuming GOOGLE Glass is in stores tomorrow?? Yawn!!!!!

The reason English teachers have such an easy time meeting the qualification and experience requirements, is because the English level in China is ABYSMAL! Local teachers consistently overestimate their abilities, which leads to people like you convincing yourself that your English is actually on par with a native speaker. Why else would you have the audacity to claim China doesn't need real English teachers? But the reality is, when faced with an actual speaking situation, types like you will avoid encounters, to hide your poor English skill. As arrogant and overconfident as you are in your ability, you actually KNOW that your English won't withstand scrutiny.
--- And I think we laowai la ji are smart enough to see a brainwashed nationalist parroting the xenophobic propaganda he's heard from news media and gossip all day. ---- Usually I try my best to call attention to the distracting rhetoric that your government's media disseminates, so that you focus your hatred on foreigners instead on the failed government that is screwing you over all the time. But in your case, I make an exception. You're obviously too far gone to listen to reason, so I say you DESERVE all the mistreatment you get from the government. You look down on us foreigners; your government has even more disdain for YOU. You have accepted your role as a mindless drone, to the point that you go to an Expat website to spew your translated propaganda to people who have done you no wrong. I understand now why human lives are worth so little in this country - you don't do anything worthwhile with your life. And we expats are just a bunch of gullible fools, that we waste time on filth like you in this country. All foreigners in China (from all the countries in the world, not all of them are even teachers) amount to a total of 600,000 people. 0.04% is too much immigration for you? Idiot! The reality is, there are probably more brain-dead laozhong in this country, itching to attack and murder innocent foreigners!

A:Good question!  I'd say, if you study at Uni in China beside working full-time as an E.T. with Residence permit, you don't interfere with your full-time employment. It's your free time and you can do anything you want, with respect to the Chinese laws and customs. Have a look at terms of Z visa/Residence permit and ... ".. you cannot work (and earn monies!) with another employer ..."That's all it is! Your RP sponsor title is written on the RP stamp in your passport, I think. It's in Mandarin, so I've heard about that from someone ...At I.D.-ing by cops, they know where you work and than more details about you are just a phone call away ... and it happened in person ... LOL ... during the day-time stroll through Wulumuqi, Xinjiang, 2012/13 semester. Now under RP, you're free to surf Internet, jog, ... and study, too. I suggest, you look and ask at the Uni, you plan to study in the future. Have a detailed look at requirements for studying and attending chosen Uni.Good luck! -- icnif77
