It revolves around two things. Those two things are luck and fortune. I guess it is because they believe if they get lucky they can get a big fortune or sometimes if they get a big fortune they believe they are lucky. I've spoken to many chinese and a lot of them said chinese people in general are poor. Some say chinese people are wealthy. It's the luck of the draw. You get what you get.
