Small and compact, cheap, but yet athletic.
Good question. Got me thinking anyway. It must be a recent game. Post the invention of celluloid anyway. I cant imagine working with balls made of animal skin.
I'm off to look it up
I am pretty sure tennis was a Scottish invention. I think it is still played on an ancient court somewhere in scotland. Real tennis I think.
bayuvar139:
Tennis comes from France, where it was played in medieval times and known as 'jeu de paume and was played with a 'racque' of sorts.
ScotsAlan:
It must have made its way to Scotland from France then. Auld alliance and all that.
In China's cities there is simply not enough space to accommodate so much space for something as frivolous as tennis. However, there is always room for a ping pong table and it is available in many places and the equipment is cheap.
