Where have you been? What you don't watch the news? They reduced some of the pollution during the olympics and they set new rules to keep the pollution down. The pollution is still high, but they are try ing to figure out way s to even further reduce it.
I don't think so. They know there is a problem and solutions are available, but nothing is being done that I can see. When I was in Guilin I thought the air was good, my nose ran all the time, thought I had cold after cold. Once I wandered into the far north of the city, the air was cloudy like low lying smoke, sometimes it was brown. I was shocked to see this. When you can clearly see that there is a problem and do nothing, that is foolish. It's Chinese thinking, just like litter.

PM 2,5 currently at 168 in Dongguan. 10pm saturday night.......
And I notice more and more vehicles on the roads month after month. It's soon to become a cluster***k like Guangzhou or Shenzhen.
damn guys, after reading about guilin and beijing, im really wondering if im not spoiled here in hangzhou. I mean, besides the quality of water, i would say that the air pollution is not that bad: and im coming from the alps...might be that they are building parks all over the city but it;s really not that bad.

Pm 2,5 at 154 on the lake now. You're in the same boat.
The EU standard considers dangerous for human health going over level 50 (for PM10, not the more dangerous 2,5) for more than 33 day in a Year. Figure it out......
