Q: Would you rather live in the big city or the countryside in China?

The big city is more polluted due to many cars on the road. The countryside is cleaner and probably has more grasslands. With the big city there is more to do such as jobs and having fun. The countryside will have limited jobs many of those that have to deal with farming. So if you had the choice where would you live the big city where it is more polluted, but has more jobs and a lot more stuff to do? Or would you pick the countryside which is cleaner than the big city but has limited jobs and not too much to do or see.

I would live in a big city, because there is literally nothing to do out in the real countryside, and very little for commodities and comforts that we take for granted. Well, unless I was given a nice big house with hot water and a washing machine and everything else I want, which probably wouldn't happen. Even in big cities, you can live on the outskirts, where there's a chance of fresh air. Or you can live near a big city instead of actually in it. After a few more decades, the countryside will probably be better, but the stage it's in now, it's the city or nothing.

That's true Jnusb416! The countryside will eventually get better in the future but now everybody is heading towards the big cities. That's another thing that wasn't mentioned was big cities that were overcrowded, but your exactly right about what you said it's the city or nothing. I'm giving you a thumbs up!

East or West, I choose the City. I loathe the countryside. Too many cows.
My dream would be to live in a place like Corruscant!cool

My goal is to live on Hornby Island (google it) and write for the Chinese government as a Wu Mao (big bucks so I am told).  Don't need a big city to be a writer, and small towm Canada beats small town China by a country mile!!

I was born a redneck so I enjoy the slower pace of the countryside.  Tons of stuff to do, if you know were to look.  And tons of stuff not to do, if you just want to spend the day sitting under a tree, drinking a beer, watching the world go by.

I am thinking some or all of you have never actually been to the Chinese "countryside".  Let me tell you, it sucks.

There is little to no infrastructure, no night life (unless you enjoy the 1 or 2 KTVs they have which are a mecca for retired, worn out hookers from all over China), no pretty girls (they all moved to the city the first chance they got) and being a foreigner means that you will never get a moments peace outside of your apartment/home.

Asside from that, it is all green meadows and rainbows.

A:Good question!  I'd say, if you study at Uni in China beside working full-time as an E.T. with Residence permit, you don't interfere with your full-time employment. It's your free time and you can do anything you want, with respect to the Chinese laws and customs. Have a look at terms of Z visa/Residence permit and ... ".. you cannot work (and earn monies!) with another employer ..."That's all it is! Your RP sponsor title is written on the RP stamp in your passport, I think. It's in Mandarin, so I've heard about that from someone ...At I.D.-ing by cops, they know where you work and than more details about you are just a phone call away ... and it happened in person ... LOL ... during the day-time stroll through Wulumuqi, Xinjiang, 2012/13 semester. Now under RP, you're free to surf Internet, jog, ... and study, too. I suggest, you look and ask at the Uni, you plan to study in the future. Have a detailed look at requirements for studying and attending chosen Uni.Good luck! -- icnif77
