I guarantee just one of those sites will give you the anwer you want (or not) in less than 21 hours and 30 minutes

Personally, I recommend Cambridge or the Bay Area for international students, not anywhere on the mainland.

Nanjing is not too bad! Pretty bigg city on it's way to become a 1st tier city. Cost of life would be fine, rent outside campus may be a little expensive.

Pros: Not too far from Shanghai by train.

Never been to Xian

A: Chinese are generally pretty tolerant friendly and accepting whatever
A:Chinese are generally pretty tolerant friendly and accepting whatever foreigners do.  I spent 15 years in China but I wouldn't say there are that many don'ts....Don't assume that many people speak English though and learn some Chinese. Don't speak much about politics unless you want to praise Chinese system.  -- Natalie363
